ACW meets
at Kirkton

The ACW meeting was
held Thursday evening at the
home of Mrs. Harold Davis.
The president Mrs. John
McCormick opened the
meeting. Scripture passage
was read by Mrs. Dick
Jongkind. Meditation was
given by Mrs. Garth
Blackler.
Following the business
part of the meeting Mrs. Don
Atkinson showed the ladies
how to embroider several
items of interest.
A social time was spent
and lunch was served by
Mrs. Bill Waghorn and
hostess.

Mr. & Mrs. Norman
Watterton of Bryanston
visited Sunday evening with
Mr. & Mrs. Jack Switzer,
Norma, Shirley and Donna.
The Sacrament of baptism
was given to Catharine
Elizabeth Lorraine infant
daughter of Reverend and
Mrs. Greg Smith at .St.
Paul's Anglican Church
Sunday morning. The
Sacrament was ad-
ministered by Reverend
John Chapman, Chaplain of
Huron College. Reverend
Peter Townshend preached
the sermon. Mr. Ken
Blackler rendered a solo.
Miss Ethel Copeland, Mrs.
Maurice Blackler, Mr. &
Mrs. Earl Berry, also Dr.
Albert Berry of St. Marys
were guests at the Arthur -
Ball wedding in St. Marys
Friday evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Marshall
and family of London, Mr. &
Mrs. Ron Marshall and
family of Kitchener and Mr.
Bob Marshall of Clinton were
dinner guests of Mr. & Mrs.
Lorne Marshall. The oc-
casion being in honor of
Lorne's birthday.

Intended for last
week
At the March meeting of
Hibbert UCW held in the
Family Life Centre, the
theme Partners in Crises
was taken by Mrs. W.J.
Mahon. She chose verses
from 1st Peter 3 and 4 for the
scripture reading.
She discussed the many
crises that occur in family
life and how the United
Church tries to help, also the
problems of migrant
workers and what the church
does to help these people.
She also reported on a day
she spent recently attending
a session of "Women Alive".
During the business period
a note of thanks from the La
Family was read, expressing
appreciation for a layette
which the women of the
community presented to
them.
It was decided to save
pennies for the year, for a
special project to be decided
on at a future meeting.

have returned home from a
enjoyable trip to Texas.
Mr. & Mrs. Rob Tem-
pleman Carrah and Cain
were Sunday guests of Mr. &
Mrs. Chuck Ebel, Stratford,
where Cain celebrated
his first birthday.
The family of Mrs. Irene
Dow celebrated her 90th
birthday Thursday with
dinner at the Royal, and a
party later at the home of
Mr. & Mrs. Norman Dow.

The Sacrament of the
Lord's Supper was
celebrated on Sunday at
Cromarty Presbyterian
Church with a good crowd in
