Led by a veteran Mission
Director, Father Arthur
Meloche; parishioners of St.
Patrick's Church, Biddulph,
will enjoy a Parish Renewal
Mission to start Sunday
March 22 and finish Thur-
sday evening, April 2.
Senior members of the
parish state that the last
parish mission was con-
ducted over twenty years
ago.
Father Meloche, who
claims Windsor as his home
town, has been an effective
and powerful director of
Parish Missions for many
years across North America
in parishes both in Canada
and the United States.
Founder and first director
of Holy Family Retreat
House at Harrow near
ARTHUR MELOCHE
Windsor back in the forties,
Father Meloche has also
lectured extrensively and
conducted workshops on The
Theology of Christian
Marriage and Family Life on
college campi and in
numerous parish halls.
Over-all theme for his
presentations will be
"Growth in Christ" to be
developed under sub -titles:
Growth to Freedom (Sun-
day), Growth in Faith
(Monday), Growth in Hope
(Tuesday) .Growth in Love
(Wednesday ),' Growth to
Eternal Life (Thursday).
Sunday evening's service
at 7:30 p.m will include
Benediction followed by a
talk and short movie. On
Monday through Thursday
the evening mission service
will begin with Mass at 7:30
p.m. followed by a talk and
movie.
At the conclusion of the
Thursday services, all will
have the opportunity to chat
with Father Meloche and
enjoy a cup of coffee in the
School Gym.
All members of the
Catholic Faith who reside in
Lucan parish are cordially
invited to share in this
unique religious event.
Lucan parish embraces,
besides Lucan, Biddulph
Township and the Northern
portion of London Township.
This Parish Renewal
Mission is the major
spiritual component among
many events planned to
celebrate the 125th an-
niversary of the founding of
London Diocese in 1856. At
the request of Bishop John
Michael Sherlock, over 140
parishes in South Western
Ontario are participating in
special activities set up to
mark this historic year.

History Committee opened
'the *March meeting of the
Elimville Women's
Institute.
The motto. "Be sure to
have good shoes and a good
bed. you spend your life in
one or the other. " was read
by Mrs. Buswell.
Mrs. Pym led in a sing
song of Irish tunes. A
"Shamrock" contest was
conducted by Mrs. Herd-
man.
Mrs. Cooper welcomed
Mrs. Payne. of Ifensall. who
brought greetings from the
South Huron District. A gift
was presented to Mrs Payne
from the branch.
Mrs. Cooper opened the
business with the roll call.
"A verse from an autograph
album.
Minutes. correspondence,
and treasurers report were
given.
Members were reminded
of the board meeting April 7
in Hensall.
It was decided to supply
the program for senior
citizens on April 7.
Mts. .Cooper closed the
meeting with a poem.
