Driver painted
in car crash
CLANDEBOYE
Clarence Miltson had his
aftlernoon nap interrupted
abruptly on Friday when a
two car crash at the in-
tersection in the village, just
outside his apartment, sent
one of the cars crashing into
his front porch.
The young lady in the car,
received several injuries
and was taken by ambulance
to a London hospital. To
make matters worse she had
a gallon of paint in the car
and the lid came off during
the crash, spilling paint
throughout the car and on
the accident victim as well.
The driver of the other car
was unhurt.
Mrs. Andy Thompson was
hostess for the March
meeting of . the Clandeboye
United Church Women.
Gwen Lynn presided. Eight
members attended. Irene
Lynn led the worship ser-
vice.
Mission study was in
charge of Hazel Williams
who related the life story of
Lillius Brown, sister of Rev.
Keith Brown. telling of her
younger school years, train-
ing as a Missionary and of
her years of service in In-
dore, India.
A report on Middlesex
Presbyterial held in Calvary
United Church, London, was
given by Irene Lynn. During
the business they decided to
honour the year of the han-
dicapped by having a special
meeting April 7 at 8 p.m. in-
viting Brinsley and Lucan
U.C.W. and St. James
A.C.W. Guest speaker will
be Elaine Townshend of
Clinton, who will tell of her
life as a handicapped person.

vice, held this year in St.
Patrick's Roman Catholic

when they met together at
their church for a pancake
and sausage supper
Prayer Day
at Elimville

The World's Day of
Prayer service was held at
Elimville United Church Fri-
day afternoon with the
members of Thames Road
United Church Women as
their guests.
The service was prepared
by the Native American In-
dian women and was very in-
teresting.
Taking part in the service
from Thames Road were
Mrs. Ken Duncan. Mrs. Wm
Rhode. Mrs. Bob Sharpe and
Mrs. Murray Dawson and
from Elimville were Mrs.
John Batten. Mrs. Ina
Skinner, Mrs. Ross Skinner
and Mrs. Philip Johns. A
social time followed the ser-
vice.
Sunday afternoon
members of the Elimville
choir and their families en-
joyed bowling at the Exeter
Bowling Lanes. They all
returned to the church for a
bountiful pot luck supper.
Donna Kerslake and
Catherine Johns presented a
gift to Kathy Cooper prior to
her marriage in May.
The Elimville and Thames
Road Young People went to
Mother's Pizza in London

leaders went to see the
movie '•All Night Long
The fifth meeting of Elim-
ville 1I was held at Nancy
Cooper's house. March 4
The roll call was answered
by all members
The meetings topic was
on waistlines and hems The
leaders discussed the
application. preparing and
applying the waistband.
After this the even and un-
even slipstitch were talked
about.
Preparing the hem was
demonstrated by the two
leaders Each girl started
working on their hemming
sample for their book After
getting far enough to do the
vertical hemming stitch the
leader demonstrated the
right way so the stitches
wouldn't show
