It was also decided to have the congregational open-air service and picnicon Sunday, June 28 on the lawn at the church. The Christian Develop- ment Committee announced that Bible Study would begin on Thursday morning, March 5 and would continue through until the end of April for the Lenten Series of thought on the Gospel of John. The members of the board expressed concern for the ever increasing need for more parking for cars on Sunday morning. The property committee were instructed to look into the possibility of using some of the church lot on Queen Street for further parking. The worship committee announced that the special service for the reception of members by profession of faith would be held on Sunday March 29 at 8 p.m. and that Maunday Thursday service and communion would be on April 16 at 8 p.m. The Sacrament of Holy Communion was celebrated by the congregation of Hensall United Church led by Rev. Stanley McDonald. The Communion message was based on the quotation "In Love's Service only the wounded can serve". Suf- fering helps us to help others in times of trouble. Through the humaneness of Jesus, we receive Grace in time of need. The children's message was on building their lives upon a rock, the rock of Christianity. The choir led by the organist and choir director Dr. Ralph Topp added to the service with their "Pater Nosta" (from "Let me bring Love") and "Let me bring Love" by Philip Green with Gail Shaw taking the solo. Mrs. Diane Gerstenkorn welcomed at the door and ushers were Wilmer Ferguson and Steve Sararas. Women's institute Hensall Women's Institute will be holding their March meeting on Wednesday March 11, when Eric Mansfield will be the speaker on citizenship and world affairs. The students will advance to compete at the Hensall Legion later this week. New resident at Queensway Queensway Nursing Home welcomes a new resident Mr. Peter L. McNaughton. The residents are most grateful to the Kippen ladies who entertained them during the past month with treats and bingo. Rev. Kenneth Knight conducted the church ser- vice accompanied at the piano by Dorothy Iles. The Ladies' high bowling score was Edna Youn with 91 and Ross Thompson for the men with 118. Visitors with Irene Kalbfleisch were Violet Bishop and Joan Bettridge. Kay and Jack Cockwell visited with Mrs. Wilds. Vera Lammie was visited by Chester Dunn and Iva Ridley. Nola Faist and Nola Ratz visited Lovina Finkbeiner. Lillian Greb visited Elizabeth Eisenbach. Vivian Alderson was visited by Leona Alderson, Roy and Mabel Alderson. Doug and Eva Triebner and Tom and Nola Treibner visited Mrs. Muriel Treib- ner. Mrs. McLaren and Mrs. Remick visited Mrs. Ken- drick. Don Rozendal visited his wife Alice Rozendal and Mr. & Mrs. Dirk Rozendal also visited with Mrs. Rozendal . • Young teens There was a large at- tendance on Sunday evening when the Young Teens of Hensall occupied the Zurich Bowling Lanes, with their parents as guests. After some keen competition between the bowlers, the group returned to Starr and Scott Jesney's home, who, along with the Moirs were hosts for the Young Teens. The Three Links Hensall Seniors have two wool rugs on display in Bonthron's Furniture Store window. Tickets are available on these rugs which were made by the seniors and may be purchased at the store or from any members of the Seniors. On Friday, Mr. & Mrs. Ted McCullough hosted a small reception in their home following the marriage of Stuart Radke and Jane Norris of Hanover at Hensall United Church of- ficiated by Rev. Stan McDonald. Atwood Young People are having a Volleyball tour- nament March 29 with eight teams. St. Marys young People will be guests of Hensall group March 4. All youth groups are invited to church service in Atwood March 15 .and to Knox Church, Goderich, for ser- vice April 5. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Flynn received a letter from their grandson Scott Avery, Boynton Beach, Florida who is attending College there, takings course in "Hotel and Restaurant Management". He has won Scholarships, one on a semester in May in Chicago and a trip to Swit- zerland in July. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Avery and has visited here on several occasions.
