Church School. It was also
decided to have the
congregational open-air
service and picnicon Sunday,
June 28 on the lawn at the
church.
The Christian Develop-
ment Committee announced
that Bible Study would begin
on Thursday morning,
March 5 and would continue
through until the end of
April for the Lenten Series
of thought on the Gospel of
John.
The members of the board
expressed concern for the
ever increasing need for
more parking for cars on
Sunday morning. The
property committee were
instructed to look into the
possibility of using some of
the church lot on Queen
Street for further parking.
The worship committee
announced that the special
service for the reception of
members by profession of
faith would be held on
Sunday March 29 at 8 p.m.
and that Maunday Thursday
service and communion
would be on April 16 at 8
p.m.
The Sacrament of Holy
Communion was celebrated
by the congregation of
Hensall United Church led
by Rev. Stanley McDonald.
The Communion message
was based on the quotation
"In Love's Service only the
wounded can serve". Suf-
fering helps us to help others
in times of trouble. Through
the humaneness of Jesus, we
receive Grace in time of
need.
The children's message
was on building their lives
upon a rock, the rock of
Christianity. The choir led
by the organist and choir
director Dr. Ralph Topp
added to the service with
their "Pater Nosta" (from
"Let me bring Love") and
"Let me bring Love" by
Philip Green with Gail Shaw
taking the solo.
Mrs. Diane Gerstenkorn
welcomed at the door and
ushers were Wilmer
Ferguson and Steve
Sararas.
Women's institute
Hensall Women's Institute
will be holding their March
meeting on Wednesday
March 11, when Eric
Mansfield will be the
speaker on citizenship and
world affairs. It is hoped
there will be a good at-
tendance.
