first place in the Exeter
Legion mixed dart league
with a two point lead over the
second place Evil Eyes.
Each team scored four
points Friday night to give
the Doublers 75 and the Evil
Eyes 73. The Itchy Niters are
third with 71 points and Last
Chance fourth with 68 points.

Jon O'Connor paced the
attack against Dorchester
with both Exeter goals.
Steve Lingard had the assist.
Doug Clark's goal in the
second overtime period did
the 'trick against Port
Stanley. It was an unassisted
effort.
O'Connor had a pair in that
game as well and the other
went. to Jeff Dalrymple.
Exeter had a tough time
e'against Ilderton in the final
and had to come back from a
one -goal deficit to get the
consolation title.
Scott Boyd picked up the
equalizer or, a play with
O'Connor and the latter then
popped a pair for the third
game in a row to get the'
medals. Lingard and Larry
Lewis drew assists on the
final two goals.
Waxers fail
The Exeter Waxers
travelled to Belmont for the
Novice "A" tournament
but came home without any
silverware.
They won their first game
against Lambeth when Alan
Blommaert scored the only
goal of the game after four

exciting contest. Harlen
Tinney picked up the
shutout.
That put the Waxers
against the southern
champion Belmont crew and
the latter scored a 5-3 victory
despite a late game rally by
Exeter.
Blommaert scored twice
for Exeter in the final four
minutes of the game to get
within one goal of Belmont,
but the winners ended the
threat when they scored in
_ the final minute.
Craig Soldan had the other
Exeter tally.
Picking up assists on the
goals were Tim VanDam,
Jim Ahrens and Jamie
Bedard.
Bantams on the move
The Exeter bantams ran
their unbeaten streak to four
games as they posted a 4-2
win over Huron Park and
tied Clinton 5-5 in exhibition
play this week.
It's the longest streak of
the season for the locals.
Playing at home, Wed-
nesday, the locals faced a
combination of bantams and
midgets from Huron Park to
emerge with a close margin
in a tight checking game.
Steve Gould, Mike
Tiedeman, John Wells and
Scott Lovie scored the goals
with Calvin Stanlake leading
the assist department with a
pair. Helping out on one goal
each were Scott Bogart,
Brent Dawson, Wells,
Tiedeman and Marty Taylor.
In Clinton, Saturday, the
locals blew a three -goal lead
to end up with their tie. The
home team scored three
times in the final four
minutes to put the contest
into a stalemate. The two
teams meet again tonight at
the rec centre.
Brent Dawson paced the
attack for Exeter with two
goals and an assist. George
• Pratt, Steve Gould and Mike
Tiedeman notched the other
tallies. Scott Lovie had three
assists along with Steve
Batten, while adding singles
to the total were Gould,
Darren Vandergunst,
Tiedeman and Calvin
Stanlake.
Midgets blow lead
The Exeter midgets,.
northern division cham
pions, failed in their quest to
win the Shamrock "A'
playoff this week when they
dropped a 5-3 verdict to
Belmont.
They'll get a chance to win
the consolation when they
travel to Parkhill tonight for
their final game

Saturday's game against
Belmont before falling to the
third place southern squad.
Dave Underwood, Mike
Clark and Scott Brintnell
scored for the locals with
Paul Smale, Mark Van

In exhibition games this
week, the locals split a pair
with Thedford. They won 7-3
at home, Wednesday, but
were drubbed 9-4 in Thed-
ford, Saturday.
Underwood, Vandergunst
and Jeff Rowe paced the win
at home with two goals each
and the single was recorded
by Mike Clark.
Dave Hayter. Van-
dergunst Scott Batten and
Rowe scored in the Saturday
Toss.
