First will be a euchre party March 20 at 8 ('clock, in the Parish hall, a Hear about • • missions The February meeting of the Pentecostal Women's Ministries was held at the home of Edith Millar with 16 members present. The meeting was opened by singing a hymn, "A Glorious Church". Mrs. Leitch led in prayer followed by another hymn entitled "Glory to God, Hallelujah". Mary Blanchard gave a financial report, followed by the reading of a number of letters and cards of thanks. Susanna Cann sang a special number entitled "In loving kindness Jesus came"Mary Lou Tait gave the Missiopary reading. Lois Gonyou was the af- ternoon speaker taking Romans 10: 11-18 as a basis for her message. She gave some excerpts from the Diary of Missionaries who were on the field for some time. The Missionaries being her own Mother and Father. She exhorted members to pray much for the Missionaries as they face many spiritual pressures as well as physic;.] and emotional pressures. Prayer time followed. Mary Blanchard and Dorothy Hookey prepared the lunch and a time of fellowship was enjoyed. Following closing prayers a Tupperware Party was held, the proceeds going toward the ACW. Personals Michael Davis had lunch with his grandmother Mrs. H. Davis Monday and another grandson Jeff Young, Lucan joined her for dinner. Mrs. Mabel Needham, Mrs. Lela Abbott and Mrs. Greta Gibson, Lucan visited with Mr. & Mrs. Harry Carroll Sunday afternoon, and Monday Mr. & Mrs. H.A. Mullins and Ruth Ann Philips, London visited with the Carroll's. Mrs. Mary Davis was lunch guest Tuesday with her sister Mrs. Alexia Atkinson Lucan and Mrs. Mabel Bale Tavistock and Mr. & Mrs. Frank Goring, Lucan were Friday dinner guests with Mrs. Mary Davis. Mrs. Bale is spending a few days visiting friends in this community. Mr. & Mrs. Jim Barker were Sunday dinner guests with Mrs. H. Davis and Mrs. Mabel Bale. Exeter seniors have program The Exeter Senior Citizens' meeting was held in the Legion Hall Monday March 2, with a fair at- tendance and Kenneth Johns in the' chair. The program was con- vened by Russell Brown who read a poem "No Excuses". Solos were rendered by Dorothy Bullock, and Chas. Hoffman. Readings were given by Blanche Dougall and Mildred Thomson, who also conducted a contest. Mrs. Ella Frayne favored with mouth organ selections, Hank Green with the violin accompanied by Elsie Jory, Lorne Johnston with saxophone, accompanied by Dorothy Bullock and Keith Fairbairn on the banjo. PHONE 235-1933 EXETER ciIAR( Ix aim Meet in Hensall r Times Advocate, N(rch 4, 1981 Page 7 LaLeche League discuss fathers La Leche League in Huron County South, met in Hensall last month at the home of Mrs. Peter Bisback. The meeting was postponed one week due to the storm, but many women drove in fog to attend the first of our meetings In the Hensall area. It was announced that the next meeting will be held March 11 at 2 p.m, at 86 Queen St. Hensall. Janis Bisback mentioned that the La Leche League International Conference coming up in July will be held at the Conrad Hilton in Chicago. The opening presentation will be given by husband and wife Doctor Stanway from England who have written a book "Breast is Best". This year, new LLL INTERMEDIATE SKATERS — Participating in Sunday's Zurich -Grand club carnival were intermediate skaters Lisa Bedard, Kathy Merner, Heather Westlake. Bend figure skating Sonya Shantz and Staff photo members will receive silver membership cards in celebration of the League's 25th anniversary. LLL Belgrave is now a depot for Egnell Electric breastpumps. These pumps may be rented by mothers who are unable to breastfeed their babies, but, still wish to provide milk for their premature infants. Discussion opened with the women introducing them- selves from Zruich, Exeter, Crediton, Mitchell and Goderich. Each mother was shown a picture and asked to share their response to the photos relationship to the different advantages of breast feeding. Many women mentioned how easy it is to mother their newborns , that they enjoyed a feeling of accomplishment in feeding their babies. Mothers thought that fathers need not feel left out of caring for their children, however, they agreed that fathers shouldn't always be burdened with a fussy baby.There are definite benefits to the father who has a sweet smelling, con- tented baby, whom Dad enjoys being with. After the meeting the women took time to look through the library and visit with each other. Nutritious finger foods and juice were served to the 20 or so hungry children and mothers. A playroom has been set up for the preschoolers. As with all League meetings children are always welcome. Next month's meeting will deal with the art of breastfeeding and over- coming difficulties. A survey researched by Dr. A.K.
