Mrs. W. Lewis opened with prayer followed by the opening hynm. Mrs Jack Hodgson gave a reading "Be a Good Forgetter'. and a poem "The Past is Gone " Mrs. George Lee read the scripture reading. Mrs. Lewis a reading A Handful of New Days.' and a poem The New Year". Mrs. Marjorie Steeper and Mrs. Hodgson gave a reading from the Study book. Minutes were read and the roll call was answered by eight members. Lunch was served by Group 2 ladies. Play euchre Friday evening nine tables of euchre were enjoyed by area residents at the Brinsley Community Centre with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hodgins. Mrs. Roy Hodgins The successful politician is the one who can rock the boat and then convince everyone else that there is a terrible storm at sea. and Murray Carter as the conveners. Winners of the evening were: Ladies high - Mrs. Harold Guilfoyle: lone hands - Jean Bice: low - Charlotte Barker: glen's high - Charles Rollings: lone hands - Evan Hodgins: low - Arthur Hodgins: special prize - George Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rollings. Mrs. Marjorie Steeper and George Dixon are the committee for the next party. Kippen WI list changesi in district By MRS. RENA CALDWELL Kippen East W(I. met at the home of Mrs. Robert Kinsman, Wednesday. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Grace Drummond reading a Valentine from her Secret Pal, and a poem. Roll call listed many changes in the locality in the past 100 years. Many homes, schools, barns, churches, are gone as well as hotels, blacksmith shops , sawmills and stores. Mrs. Vern Alderdice chaired the program and introduced the guest speaker Marie Paul Green from the Consumer affairs of IGA. Shepresented a questionnaire and dealt with each of the questions. Shoppers are advised to return products that are not satisfactory in their con- tainers but storekeepeers are not obliged to take back articles simply because the customer changed his mind. Mrs. Green was thanked by Mrs. Robert Bell. Mrs. Ross Broadfoot read a beautiful poem on Friends. Mrs. Al Hoggarth presented a thought provoking motto on "It isn't what you start but what you finish that counts". Mrs. Alderdice con- tributed a poem on A Good Neighbour. Mary Broadfoot accompanied the Sing song. Current Events prepared by Mrs. M. Connolly were presented by Margaret Hoggarth who also gave courtesy remarks. Everyone enjoyed an organ interlude by Mrs. R. Kinsman. Lunch was served by the hostesses Mrs. Kin- sman, Mrs. Alderdice, and the committee in charge. Mrs. Green presented a gift certificate from Clinton IGA to Rena Caldwell, Marlene Bell and Helen MacLean winners in the draw. Personals Wilfred Mellis is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
