SENIOR CITIZEN APARTMENTS (Huron County Housing Authority) Ontario Housing Corporation provides assisted rental accommodation for seniors throughout the County of Huron. Senior citizen housing is for those who can look after their own daily needs and should - not be confused with homes for the aged, where daily care and food services are provided. Assisted rental housing is available to per- sons 60 years of age or older or couples where one person is at least 60 years of age. Seniors who live in these buildings generally pay on a rent -geared -to -income basis, which is usually 20% - 25% of their gross income. Rent will not exceed $250.00 per month. In a special meeting, Wednesday council agreed to purchase for the treasurer's office a filing cabinet, typewriter, calculator and safe, and a filing cabinet for the road superintendent. The construction budget in the amount of $112,700.00, and maintenance budget in the amount of $209,000. were approved. Tenders will be called for spraying 117 miles of road, for 20,500 yards of gravel, and for 200 flaked tons of calcium. The closing date on the Morgan transaction was ex- tended to March 1, 1981. The township of Biddulph has expressed interest in ob- taining water from the pipeline at Mooresville. McGillivray township will be taking over the maintenance of the Boun- dary Road (Concession 5) from East Williams township as of May 1, 1981, for a five year period. The Lucan Community Centre report showed a deficit for 1980 of $49,209.79. This deficit is down from 1979 ($57,841.93). McGillivray's share is eight percent or $3,936.78.
