Dashwood Beavers were
treated to a bobsled ride on
January 14. Special thanks
goes to Carl Tyler, Larry
Baynham, Ken Masse and
Gerald Tyler, of Lazy T&B
stables of Dashwood, for
their work and efforts in
providing the ride. It was
greatly appreciated and en-
joyed.
Jan. 21 was Dashwood
Beaver Fair night. The
leaders worked hard making
booths and games, such as,
hoop the clown. hit the cans
and other games seen at
fairs. The Beavers had a
really fun night and were
rewarded with prizes of can-
dy.
Jan.. 28. the Beavers learn-
ed a new song and dance
then made robots from
paper cups. snowmen from
paper and airplanes from
clothes pins. At this time the
leaders and Beavers would
like to thank the community
centre board for helping
keep "The First Dashwood
Beaver Colony" going.
WI meets
The February meeting of
Dashwood Women's
Institute was on resolutions
with conveners, Mrs.
.Harold Carroll and Mrs. Syd
Baker in charge. Roll call
was answered by all present,
namely. "As an Institute
member I receive".
Mrs. Baker outlined the
proper steps in drafting a
resolution and the time con-
suming precedure from the
Institute ito the provincial
level when it is presented for
acceptance or cast aside.
Mrs. Carroll presented a
resolution on the return of
the death penalty for
premeditated murder. She
had studied her subject in
detail. A discussion follow-
ed.

and Mrs. Almer Rader,
Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader
attended the funeral of their
nephew. Bruce Higgs, at the
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe receiv-
ed a prize for the most words
made from the word Valen-
tine. Mrs. Harold Schroeder
received a prize as runner
up. Mrs. Eban Weigand, presi-
dent. dealt with the
business. A letter from the
president of Federated
Women's Institutes of On-
tario, Mrs. Clarence Dia-
mond was read. A donation
was made to Dashwood and
Area medical centre. A prize
will be provided for a
needlepoint picture at the
Exeter fair.
The Institute will sponsor
two euchre parties Feb. 17
and March 17.
The medical centre com-
mittee met Thursday. Feb.
4. The canvass is going very
well. Plans of buildings were
studied. Reports from all
committees were
favourable.
All donations made by
business firms will be
published in the local papers
unless otherwise requested.
Personal donations will be
printed with navies only.

Wuerth of Exeter, spent last
weekend in Toronto at the
boot show. Baby Rebecca
Lyn spent the weekend with
Linda's parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Robert Hern, at Woodham.
Mrs. Cliff Russell returned
home last Monday after
spending three weeks with
her mother, Mrs. Edgar
Webb, in St. Catharines,
following the death of
Velma's father.
Doris and Eva Sweitzer
visited Wednesday with their
aunt, Mrs. Martha Smith, a
patient in South Huron
Hospital.
Mrs. Trellis Little spent a
few days in London last week
at her son's Bill and Mary
Ellen Little and family.
Recent visitors with
Trellis and Earl Stebbins
have been Lonnie Little and
his friend of London, Ray
and Kay Cooper of Exeter,
Mauric4 Desjardine, Huron
Park.
Weekend visitors with
Tom and Jean Bradley were
their son Tom Jr. and his
wife Carol, of London and
Mr. & Mrs. Larry France,
Jason and Melissa of
Ingersoll.
Mr. & Mrs. Milton
Sweitzer were supper guests,
Friday, at their daughter's
in Exeter. Sandra and Jim
Campbell. and grand-
daughters Kim and Kelly.

Mr. & Mrs. George W. Lee
have recently returned home
after two weeks holiday
spent with Mr & Mrs. Cecil
Lewis in Port St. Lucie,
Florida.

their sewing project so a
quiz to test their metric I.Q.
was introduced. The girls
paired up and measured
each other to determine
their pattern size. Samples
of fabric were shown. The
girls will be making a vest or
skirt 'to complement their
Spring wardrobe.
