community, and how by
being good examples and
friends, they can lead others
to Jesus.
A story relating to this was
read, showing the different
masks that people hide
behind, and how we should
look behind these "faces" to
find the real person. Games
were played, then everyone
attended the meeting of Unit
3. which followed, to hear the
speaker on drug abuse.
Unit 3 meets

husbands bowling later this
month.

Mrs. Elwyn Bryan and Mrs.
Fred Cook. Mrs. Bryan read
a letter written by Art
Linkletter on the tragic
death of hisdaughtercaused
by drugs. Mrs. Cook read a
story dealing with the same
subject, concluding with a
poem.
The guest speaker was
Bruce Cowan, Chief of Police
for St. Marys. He spoke on
drug abuse and
rehabilitation, this was
illustrated with a slide
presentation. The youth
groups were invited to attend
this meeting.
Church news

He entitled his sermon
"The ways of Acceptance".
This is to be the first in a
series of three.
Basing his message on the
Prayer of St. Francis of
Assisi, Rev. Morden
described the first part, God
give me the serenity to ac-
cept the things I cannot
change, as the best known
prayer in the world, it
is printed on the A.A.
(Alcoholics) card and was
given to servicemen when
war broke out. The words
are not hard to understand.
(There are some things that
simply cannot be changed,
there are situations, that can
be altered or modified. How
we can distinguish the one
from the other will be dealt
with in this series.
