to be a decendant of the
Emerald isle to enjoy this
date. Just be fun loving.
Al Lavier is interested in
finding young golfers wbo
would like to spend some
time on the links with the op-
portunity of representing
our club in competition with
the rest of the youth in On-
tario this summer. Anyone
interested can contact Al at
his home any evening. Last
year our kids had this
pleasure of playing at the
Fanshawe course in London
and did very well. Al is going
to plan early mini tour-
naments and will let us know
the dates soon.
The schools in the
Township are holding
oratorical contests in the not
too distant future. The
winners of these will repre-
sent our club in the Ontario
district competitions. It's a
tough assignment for the
kids to stand up in front of a
crowd. but I'm sure that we
will be well represented.
Bike safety week and T -
Ball are two more events in
the planning stages. Watch
for more information on
thses in future editions.
The club members will be
doing some travelling this
month. On the 6th, 7th and
8th or this week a made up
hockey team is playing in
the Grand Bend Optimist
club hockey tournament at
the Thedford arena. We plan
to come back to the Park as
the best of the bunch. If you
want to see us play the first
game for our team is at 11
p.m.
On February 14 at the
Waterloo Motor Inn the On-
tario District Quarter Board
is to be held. Our club will be
represented. We are looking
for a large number of our
members to attend an inter-
club meeting with the Clin-
ton Optimists on the 19th of
this month. For more into
contact Bill McGrath. Let's
have a good showing.
The Huron Park bantams
played an excellent game on
Saturday against a stubborn
team from Elma-Logan and
came out of it on short side.
Jeff Galloway combined
with Mike Moffatt to score
our only goal in the 5 - 1 Loss.
A total of 38 penalties were
called in the contest. We
should have had the game in
the penalty box. There were
more players there than on
the ice.
The Stephen Optimist will
hold a Tri-Star Hockey skills
contest at the Stephen Arena
on March 15. The contest is
composed of three basic skill
tests. each aimed at ev-
aluating a contestants skill
in skating. shooting and stick
handling.

If you are tired of the cheap, mass
produced breads loaded with ad-

to the old fashioned flavor and
goodness of fresh bakery bread. It
costs a little more but with no preser-
