The tie ended the schedule
for both teams and gave
Exeter the title by a single
point. They ended up 13-3-4
and St. Marys was 13-4-3.

have much time to cherish
the league title win. They'll
face the same St. Marys
crew in OMHA playoffs, with
the first game scheduled in
Exeter tonight (Wednesday)
at 8:00 p.m.
They'll go back to St.
Marys for a Saturday
contest and play in Exeter on

District bowlers to
help Big Brothers
Area bowlers are doing
their thing to help the South
Huron Big Brother
Association raise funds.
Members of the ladies' and
men's bowling leagues in
Exeter and Zurich are
seeking pledges from
sponsors for one game
during regular play in the
week of February 8-15.
Jim Chapman, president
of the local Big Brother
Association, said that,
"support from the bowlers
has been terrific. They really
want to help." Funds for Big
Brothers are used mainly for
printing and advertising,
training sessions, screening
and matching interviews and
"outings" for Little and Big
Brothers.
In addition to the league
bowlers Chapman noted that
Tony Bedard, Town and
Country Lanes in Zurich, has
offered his facilities for a
special bowl-a-thon "We
hope to have 30 or more
"celebrity" bowlers try their
luck at bowling for big
brothers. Now all we need is
a willing sponsoring public."
The Big Brother
Association provides male
companions for boys in
fatherless homes who need a
special friend. The
Association hopes to expand
to have a Big Sister com-
ponent as well. At the
moment a needs survey is
being conducted to deter-
mine how valuable such a
service would be.
