Mrs. Marguerite Greenlee
gave her home Tuesday
afternoon for the January
A.C.W. meeting and a baby
shower for Cate, baby
daughter of Rev. Greg &
Mrs. Smith.
She received many
beautiful and useful gifts
from each of the members.
Her mother expressed her
pleasure and thanks.
The A.C.W. meeting
opened with prayer and the
members prayer repeated in
unison. Mary Jefferies read
the meditation. Joan
Greenlee conducted a
memory- contest, won by
Vicky Gee.
This was followed by the
election of officers con-
ducted by Rev. Smith as
follows, president
Marguerite Greenlee, vice
president Marg Carroll,
secretary Mary Jefferies,
treasurer Mary Davis,
'assistant Vicky Gee.
The hostess served
refreshments with Maureen
Smith pouring tea. Mary
Jefferies thanked the hostess
Eileen Carroll thanked the
officers old and new and
Eileen Carroll won the
mystery prize donated by
Sheryl Carroll. Rev. Smith
closed with prayer.

Sunday afternoon the
Crediton Fireman's Associa-
tion held a free skating party
tor area residents.
The lovely weather drew a
crowd of over 150 skaters.
They consumed 300 hot dogs
and gallon of hot chocolate.
The ladies in the serving
area were kept busy prepar-
ing the free refreshments.
Doreen Browning, Phyllis
Lightfoot, Marilyn
Pritchard. Marg Pertschy
and June Anderson provided
the cooking power.
Races were held for the
various age groups with of-
fical judging by Fred
Bowers and Ken McCann.
The winners were - Girls
12 and over Ruth Anne Mar-
tin, Tracey Davis, Laurie
Schenk. Girls 8 - 11 Lisa
Hewitt. Bonnie Dillon,
Kathy Hendrick. Girls 5 - 7
Dawn McFalls, Denise Hen-
drick and' Donise Dundas.
Girls 4 and under Jennifer
McNutt, Carrie Lvnn Case,
and Terry Snell.
In the boys division a
special backwards race was
held for alt the hockey
players 10 to 15 years of age.
Winners were Mike Hayter,
Rob Finkbeiner and Liam
Brennan.
The 12 and over non -
hockey players race was
won by. Murray McDonald,
Terry Glanville and Bill
Willemsen. Boy 8 - 11 Randy
Play euchre

the euchre party at Neils
school Monday night with
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Lewis
and ,Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Lewis the conveners.
Prizes went to Mrs. Don
Allen. lady's high; Jean
Miller. lone hands; and
Desta Rock, low. Men's high
went to AndYllompson.lone
hands to Tom Kooey, and
low Charles Rollings.
The next party to be held
Monday night January 26
with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cun-
ningham and Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Dixon as the conveners.
Sympathy of the communi-
ty ' is extended to Mr. and
Mrs. Murray Rowe and
family in the sudden death of
Mrs. Rowe's brother, Nelson
Hodgins of Parkhill.

their regular meeting.
Monday January 19 Mrs.
Idella Sims celebrated her
90th birthday.
Congratulations, Mrs. Sims,
may you have many more
happy years.
