Upon arrival they settled in and formed their small discus- sion groups for the weekend. Discussion groups were held Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon members of the group made a mural entitled "Happiness is" and each member made a Collage on "What in Im- portant to You in Your World". The latter will be displayed at both churches. Bryan and Andy had laid out a nature walk and treasure hunt along the Grand River, some of the treasures with Christian overtones and members also enjoyed this part of the program. As well as the discussion group Saturday evening, the young people and their leaders were privileged to • have Sandra Meredith of Ilderton with them to tell of her work with Teen Missions International. Sandra is only 15 but already has spent eight weeks, last summer, in India helping to build a school. She told of her experiences and her work with this Chris- tian group and was a real in- spiration to the young people as she witnessed to herFaith. A question and answer period followed: Sunday morning the group took part in an informal Communion Service at the "House of the Interpreter" with just the members and their leaders sharing the Communion with two of the directors of the Centre. This was followed by the last dis- cussion group and "clean- up", before leaving for home at 1 p.m. Leaders and young people report most enriching and wonderful weekend. Bryan and Barb are to be commended for their very special work with the youth of the community, as are the helpers who come in from time to time as the need arises. .01 TWO VALUABLE PLAYERS — The most valuable player on each team in every game in the weekend junior hockey tournament received a plaque. Keith Brown continued his communion series on the Apostles' Creed using the se- cond statement "I Believe in Jesus Christ...." Jesus is our real education in the Glory of God and if we learn of Jesus, we learn of God. to see God, as on a T.V. screen. Mr. Brown advised us to read and study the Gospels. Watch Jesus as He goes straight to the cross, because there, in bloody sweat. we see what we are doing to Him in our sinful lives. God. at the right time. became man to fight against Revival Centre Rev. Ray Brewster con- ducted the morning service. Mrs. Marlene Thornton and Mrs. Lorraine Armitage sang "For This Cause I Bow my Knees." Rev Brewster said there are symbols of the Holy Spirit, the first of which is fire as in Acts 2:3, which purified our relationship with God so we can live holy lives. A second symbol is wind as 'in Acts 2:2. As we cannot see the wind. we also cannot see God working. Water is a symbol of Holy Spirit, which purifies. REDUCE YOUR INCOME TAX AN R.R.S.P. Oil that heals is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. as is the dove, a symbol of peace. For the evening service, members of Toronto Teen Challenge ministered. Car- man Berry sang several songs. Syd Benson told about his life saying, he never knew what a Sunday School was. At 13 he wondered why he was born. At 16 he wondered what life was all about, so he left home with nothing. For five years he lived by stealing, mostly in the U.S.A. All this time ,hg was still searching to fir out what life was all about. He tried alcohol and drugs. but found nothing but the gutter and jail. He went back to Toronto, slept in a park in pouring rain. in the same clothes he'd worn for 3 months. Realizing he needed help he went to see a probation of- ficer. who was a Christian, who sent him to Teen Challenge. First thing there he had a bath. At a Teen Challenge ser- vice the chaplain asked if he wanted to change, then told him only God could change his life if he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. They gave him a Living Bible. and first verse he read was Psalm 34:6 He read the whole Bible through the next day. He did not un- derstand whatthe Bible was all about. but he knew what being saved was by then. At a Pentecostal service he spoke of the baptism of the Holy Spirit being a gift from God. He accepted the gift that night from then his en- tire life changed. He tested God by praying for the first job he ever had. Next day he got a job. For the last year he has been working in Teen Challenge as a counselor. Syd Benson said God has Completely changed his life, and He can change ours. Carman Berry again ministered in song. Rev Maurie Blair. direc- tor of Toronto Teen Challenge. spoke from Luke 15: 11-24, the story that shows the great love of God. The difference between Christianity and other religions is that God looks for sinners. 1f you leave your family to do your own thing you collect scars. You reap what you sow. Like the prodigal son you can end up with nowhere to go, no friends, no money. and depths of hopelessness. Like this man you can come to your senses and return to your father, remembering your Father loves you. As the prodigal's father welcomed him back in love, so God the Father has the same kind of love for us. God is reaching out in love for each of us.
