Marauders lose twice to Parkhill
The Centralia Marauders
suffered two defeats in South
Huron hockey league play
this week and both were at
the hands of the Parkhill
Merchants.
At the Stephen township
arena Thursday night, the
Merchants won by a score of
3-1 and back on home ice in
Parkhill Sunday night they
recorded a 4-2 victory.
The Marauders will be
back in action tomorrow
night, Thursday when they
take on the Forest Boyds at
the Stephen township arena
at Huron Park at 8:30 p.m.
In Sunday's contest, Wes
Lockhart of Parkhill scored
the only goal of the first
period.
In the middle frame, the
Marauders scored their only
two goals of the game.
Blair Hearn started the
Centralia scoring at 1:05 on
a three-way combination
with Bill Hodge and Matt
Muller.
With less than five minutes
to go in the period Rich
Lather fired a successful
shot with passing help
coming from Nlatt Jluller
and Hugh Wilson.
Rob Thomas scored three
times for Parkhill in the final
20 minutes of play to ensure
victory for his Parkhill club.
The Merchants took 10 of
the 18 penalties called. Each
team was able to score one
power play goal.
The Thursday game was
scoreless until Ed McLoud
scored for Parkhill at 6:23 of
the second period.
About six minutes later,
the Marauders evened the
count as Randy Somerville
registered on a power play
