generous donation from the

very encouraging start for

Jack Gaiser is a patient in
St. Joseph's hospital London,
where he had surgery.
While nature is putting a
damper on social life and
meetings and creating havoc
with fuel bills it is also for-
ming some fantastic
scenery. As you gaze at the
piles of ice and snow on the
dock at Grand Bend It is
hard to imagine basking in
the sunshine while waiting
for a nibble from those I
delicious perch - This too '
shall come to pass.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader,
Stacey and Derick were Sun-
day visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Miller and girls,

*TO CUT POWER
Ontario Hydro will con-
duct a routine voltage reduc-
tion test on Tuesday,.
January 20.
Voltage on the Ontario
electrical grid will be cut by
5 Per cent that day for two
one-hour periods: from 1:30
p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and again
from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A voltage cut is simply a
lowering of the pressure at
which power is relayed from
the generating station to the
customer. and for most
customers it will be im-
perceptible.
The test is conducted
twice a year, in January and
July. and is meant to ensure
that in an emergency, Hydro
could prevent a power in-
terruption in this way.
A voltage reduction of 5
per cent would cover the loss
of about 400 megawatts,
enough to supply a city the
size of London, Ontario.
