T -A photo Bad weather cancels Brinsley Church service By GORDON MORLEY BRINSLEY Mrs. Bert Stoughton visited relatives in London and Mr. & Mrs. George Prest after Christmas. April Hodgins had a few holidays with her aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs. Joe Durand and family. Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Morley and Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Morley were guests with Mr. & Mrs. George Wilkinson and Tammy of Lucan on New Years Day. Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hodgins and Andrea, Mr. & Mrs. Mike Horner, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and Rae spent New Years Day with Miss Ruth and Viola Lewis. Miss Cindy Prest, Scar- borough was home for a few days with her parents. Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Thompson and Arlene were visitors with Mrs. Violet Allison and Kathleen Morley recently. Mr. & Mrs. Rick Scott and `amily were New Years visitors with Mr. & Mrs. 3eorge W. Lee. Mr. & Mrs. Orville Haynard had their son Kevin from London and daughter and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Brian McCafferty from Lucan and Mr. C. Maynard from London over the holidays. The Church service was cancelled on Sunday in the United church due to the weather conditions. Mrs:' Jack Trevithick received word of the death of her aunt Mrs. Jessie Nairn who passed away in Victoria Hospital on Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Allen Amos and family entertained the Kennedy family on New Years day. Mr. & Mrs. Neil Trevithick and Amy, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Trevithick and Ruth, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Walper and Elizabeth and Bill Johnson spent Saturday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Don Newey and girls in London. Kelly Hodgson was picked the winner in the Times Advocate Christmas colouring book contest winning 825. Kelly is 9 ears old and Mr. & Mrs. ley Hodgson's eldest da ter. Mr. & Mrs. Graham Wark, Killarney, Manitoba at- tended the funeral of Mrs. Warks father Alec James, and visited with Mr. & Mrs. Philip James. Miss Barb Templeman was an overnight guest of Miss Suzanne Feltz, Mit- chell. Miss Cindy Denetti, Guelph visited for a few days with Miss Susan Morris. piano. Guests of Mr. & Mrs. Robin Daynard and family on Monday evening were, Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Visscher, Mr. Albert Visscher, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Nielson, Mr. & Mrs. John Templeman, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Norris, Mr. & Mrs. Al Fuller, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Kemp and Mr. & Mrs. Russell Miller. Each family went to the front where they received sacrament and a candle. Pastor Ross Hargreaves pronounced the Benediction which brought a very en- joyable evening to a close. Sunday January 11 a communion will be served at the regular church service. Joint session meeting will be held at the manse Wed- nesday January 7 at 8:30 p.m. Visitors and guests during the Christmas holidays with Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Riehl and family were; Miss Kim Riehl, Stratford, Mr. & Mrs. Ben Riley and Lorna, Mrs. Albert Riehl, Goderich, Mr. Si Mrs. Doug Riely, Benji, Debbie, and Wendy, Mr. & Mrs. George Snell and Karen, Centralia. Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Riehl aand family were guests `Boxing Day with Mr. & Mrs. Norval Smith, London. ' Mr. & Mrs. Roy Pepper, Exeter were Wednesday evening supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Cottle, Miss Jean Coward, Mr. Tom Yellow, Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde were guests as the Bennewies-Scott wedding at Brodhagen Lutheran Church and the wedding supper, reception and dance at Brodhagen, Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Johns and Mary were supper guests recently with Mr. Mary Neil of Exeter. Pastor Ross and Mrs. Hargreaves had New Year's dinner with her sister and husband Mr. & Mrs. Jack Griffin, of Cathcart, and Mr. Si Mrs. Bill Griffin Tanya and Ian, Woodstock. In the afternoon they visited his father Mr. & Mrs. John R. Hargreaves at the Oxford Regional Nursing Home, Ingersoll and has supper with Mr. & Mrs. Edwin.
