HENRY BERTENS Nancy lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Templemon and Henry John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Bertens, exchanged vows in Cromarty Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 17, 1980 with Rev. Kenneth Knight officiating. Attending the bride were, Ruth Templemon, Nancy Bertens, Darlene Templeman, Patricia Bertens and Barbara Templeman. Attending the groom were, Ed Van Roessel, Ed Bertens, Ade Bertens, Larry Bertens and Richard Templeman. Michelle Martyn was ring bearer and Julie Martyn and Carrah Templeman were flower girls. Mrs. John Scott was organist and accompanied the soloist Ruth McCreight. Following the marriage a reception was held at the Mitchell and District Community Centre. JOSEPH BOLAND Cheryl Cartier and Joseph Bolaiid`were married at Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton with Father Michael Parent of- ficiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cartier and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement 'Boland. Matron of honour was Catherine Abbihk, sister of the :bride. Bridesmaids were Maureen Ryan, friend of the bride :and Mary Lynn Cartier, cousin of the bride. Jack Conlin, cousin of the groom was best man. Paul Dietrich, cousin of the groom and Gary Cartier, brother of the bride were ushers. The couple will reside at RR 3 Ailsa Craig. Clandeboye lady visits Vancouver CLANDEBOYE Mrs. Viola Carter, ac- companied by John and Patricia Brownlee and family of Gravenhurst, flew to Vancouver after Christ- mas where they spent a week visiting with John's sister, Mary Jane and Dale Carter and family. They took along their skis but mild weather prevented them from participating. They returned on Friday evening only to find the high- way from Toronto to their home in Gravenhurst, closed to traffic because of heavy snow, so the skis will be put to good use in their own area. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Man- -ders, Debbie and David also Mr. and Mrs. George Van Geel and family of Lucan returned on Sunday from a ten day holiday in Florida with Music Man Tours. Rev. and Mrs. Stanley Tomes, DKanesia, Ruth, Matthew and Rebecca of Little Current, Manitoulin spent a few days last week with Gwen and Ralph Lynn and family. John and Bev Keller, Sherri Lynn and Stephen were holiday visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kirk, at Moorefield. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vin- cent, Lori, Michael and Michelle, visited during the holidays with Lucille's mother and sisters, Mrs. Fred Hoffman. Mr. and Mr's. Horst Kovitzki and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Navarre and family, in Barryton, Michigan. Holiday visitors with Mrs. Gordon Ratz were Bill Ratz, Katherine Ratz, both of Lon- don, Barbara Ratz, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ratz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ratz, Mr. and Mrs. George Weller, Pompano Beach, Florida, Kathy Childs, Sarasota,Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Longman, and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Longman, of Mississauga, Robert Longman Kitchener, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilber McLinchey, of Greenway. A good number of folks from this area attended the reception on December 26th, for newly weds, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ratz at the Legion hall in Exeter. Chris Schiebel, of Belle River, spent holidays here at his sister's home, Rosanne and Tom Russell, Jackie and Jenny. .. - Mr. and Mrs. Doug Russell and family visited in Strat- ford with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Baker Jr. and family. Mrs. Doris Sweitzer, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sweitzer, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Sharpe, of Parkhill, Eleanor gharpe, of London. were New Year's day guests with Mr. and Mrs.. Murray Evans, at Lambeth. Milton and Eva also visited during the holidays at her mother's Mrs. Elsie Comfort and other relatives in Welland. Eleanor and GlennDurie, visited last Monday in Toronto, with Glenn's grand- mother, Mrs. Peter Wardlaw. Holiday visitors with Ella and Willis Desjardine were Alvin and Clara Statton, Grand Bend, Debbie, Harry and Eric Platenga of Huron Park, Les and Betty Desjar- dine, Thedford, and Jimmy Fhair, of Courtright. Ms. June Anderson, of Huron Park, visited Wednes- day afternoon with her aunt and uncle, Hugh and Annie Morenz. Bill Morenz travelling by a C.P. Air flight returned home Sunday after a week's holidays in Coquitlam B.C. with his daughter, Peri Morenz. AND MRS. •BILL ARMSTRONG On December 5, Linda Wilson and Bill Armstrong were united in marriage at Centralia United Church with Rev. John Beaton officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lois Wilson and the late Russell Wilson, Centralia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Armstrong, Exeter. The soloist was Faye Blair accompanied by Doug Gill on the organ. The maid of honour was Lenore Coates. Bridesmaids were Marg, Donna, and Barb Wilson. Flower girl was Esther Lambie. The best man was John Wurm. Guests were ushered by Peter Armstrong, Paul Armstrong and Norm Wilson. Ringbearer was Ben Armstrong. The couple are now residing in Exeter.Photo by Jack Doerr MR. AND MRS. STEVEN JACOBSON Jane Elizabeth Heal and Steven Evan Jacobson were married on September 5, in a garden ceremony at the Inn at Benmiller. Rev. Stan McDonald officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Heal of Hensall, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jacobson of St. Louis, Missouri. Julie Heal of London and David Jacobson of Los Angeles were attendants. Jane and Steven returned to LosAngeleswhere they will reside. Jane attended schools in Hensall and Exeter and Lambton College in Sarnia. She has nursed in Florida, Wingham and Los Angeles. . _• .•1 ITS Centralia celebration Despite the stormy weather the Centralia Community Centre was the scene of a joyous occasion on Sunday afternoon when the family of Mildred and Lawrence Hirtzel held Open House in honour of their parents 45th Wedding Anniversary. The couple was united in marriage 45 years ago by the late Rev. Arthur Page. They have four children, Donald, Parkhill, Bill, Exeter, Margaret (Mrs. Karl Keller) London, Bev, Lhcan and twelve grandchildren. Centralia Faith Taber- nacle congregation held their annual New Year Eve Service. The members of the church were served a delicious meal. After supper Bob Heywood ministered in song and Pastor Bob Degraw led the song service. Some of the members gave talks on what God had done in the past year and what they had prayed for in the future.
