Field Dal Sports
The annual field day sports of .the
High and l'ublic schools held last
Friday afternoon wore highly sun'
cessful and the ntartaaolncnt do

In the senior event', thorn was not
much coucpetition, except in the
pole vault, which had about eight
entries. All the junior events %%ore
well filled. almost every youngster
in the school wishing to display Lir
athletic ability. The races by the
girls were exoiting, each one. hav-
ing -her contingont of rooters. Tom
Carling was the winner of the medal
scoring the greatest slumber of
points.
In the evening an entertainmenb
was given in tho town hall consist-
ing of songs by the high school Glee
Club and individual members. piano
solos. recitations and nihdresse3.
During the evening the prizes wore
distribututcd to the severaI winners
