And this is just as true to -day in the
village and vicinity of Exeter as it ever
was in the world's history. Here we
are, a good people in a charming little
town in the garden of Ontario with as
geed roads as are found anywhere,
and land that cannot be beat, with
veget.tules and fruit in such adundunce
that much of it is ungatltered and go-
ing to -waste.

Indeed a real necessity. You good
people have voted. almost unantinout-

a company is formed and chartered
and $10,000 subscribed mostly by the
working people. $5,000, or $0,000
more in subscriptions is immediately
neccessary before we can commence
to build. The buildings must be erec-
ted this fall and installed with machin-
ery this winter in order to be ready
for operations in the spring. The Del-
hi factory (and nearly every factory of
any account in Ontario) pays out over
$1,000 a week during the working sea-
son •foo wages besides a large amount
for raw material. This money is most-
ly spent in town tor the various nec•es-

Where canning factories usually run

an 8 or 10 per cent dividend. We in-

work of three factories in vegetables,

declare Irons 5 to 11) per cent the first
year and porportionately more there-
after, of course all depends on the cost
