The weather for the Exeter Fall
show was just what the direotors or.
dered and in conscequence, (Imre Was
one of the largest crowds that ever
attended 'the local exhibition, fully
five thousand people being in atten-
danee. The engagement of Victor's
Venetian Hand was the drawing card
of 'the day, Out a good many felt
that if •tests of spaced on the race
track could have been given. :rhe
crowd would have been larger. The
band. which consists of aboue thirty
utembers is a grand musical' organi-
zation, but there are Canadian hand,
that eau furnish equally as good mu-

e a 1 well paid $260 being the amount
received by them.
In the Crystal Palace the exhibits
of fruit. ladies work. manufactures,
dairy products, fine arts. flowers,
etc.. made a good showing. The
miniature model farm was admired
by everyone, arid the maker deserves
considerable praise for the excellent
work. Considerable dissat intact ion
was oauwcd over the judging of the
flowers. the judge being pno of the
exhibitors, and we are informed that
. Mr. Cottle. another exhibitor, has
entered a protest against the pay-
ment of any prize money to the
judge of the flowers.
In the 1adice department the ex-
hibit was unusually large, and (the
displays shown by 111e different cx-
hibitoes showed that the members
et the fair rex are adept at making
beautiful things for home furnish-
ings.
