land in this district is light, but

but it is in a fine part of the coun-

which was held in the Evangelical.
church last Sunday was 1 grand suc-
cess, although the weather was hot
and a strong wind and rainstorm
swept over the village shortly be-
fore. the evening service, the church
was well attended. In the Morning
the pastor, L. K. Eidt, nrceiched a
powerful sermon to the Caged, which
was highly ,'appreciated. The choir
rendered several excellent anthems
at all of the services. Besides the
recitations and dialogues -of the
schola.rs, appropriate addresses were
given by Rev. E. II, Bean, of Credi-
ton, Rev. A. D. Gieirtder, of Zurich,
Goo. Edighoffer, of IIey. Arthur Kel-
lcrmann and ltev. L. K. Eidt. The
chorus' and motion songs of the
children were well received. The
