Rollins tendered him a farewell banquet Wednesday evening of last week on the eve of hie departure for the Northwest. ,where he will look around for a suitable location. The reception was attended by about forty-five persons, Of whic only a few were business men of the town. ITowever those present demonstrated in no uncertain man- ner the esteem which Dr. Rollins is 'Old by them. After the banquet supper County Warden, Hugh Spackman, who had been cwppointed toast master, opened with a short address. Mr. Spack- man stated that the assemblage .was tlie,ne to bid farewell to ore of the oldest residents of Exeter, a man who had held the highest offices in the gift of the corporation and the County of lluron, having been Reeve of Exeter and Warden of the County. Ile had been intimately aceu:tinted with the Dr. for a number of yeses and had always found him the same, kind, courteous, entertaining and of .a charitable disposition. Ile hoped drat in his new field of labor, sucerss would follow hitt, and while his loss to the coriimunity is greatly de- plored, yet, after the success which to is sure to attain, we may some day .see him in our midst again, en- joying our friendship and good fel- lowship. The toast to the Icing was ;re- sponded to by the assemblage arising while the bund played the national anthem. The British Empire owls responded to by Mr. N. D. Burdon.
