fire is supposed to have started from
the chimney of the kitchen. The

on Wednesday afternoon. May 24th,

Wilson. of McGillivray, when their
eldest daughter, Miss Pearl, was
united in marriage to Mr. Ernest
Grosvenor, a prosperous young
farmer residing near Strat tiro}•. The
interesting and impressive marriage
ceremony was performed by Rev.
Mr. Henderson. in the presence of
about forty invited :guests. The
bride, who w•aa charmingly attired
and attended by Miss Clover Short.
was "given away" by her father,
while Mr. A. Merrick, of Napin, as-
sisted the groom. After the usual
congratulations the bridal party
and ,zuests sat down to the sump-
tuous wedding repast so daintly
served by those in charge. The gifts
presented to the bride were numer-
ous and beautiful showing the high
esteem in which she is held. The
best wishes of all follow them to
their new home.

BRINSLEl
The oldest t resident of the Town-
ship of McGillivray passed away on
Wednesday the 24th ult. in the per-
son of Mrs. Mary Sellars, who had
almost reached the ate of ninety-
nine years. Had she lived till the
2nd of June next, she would have
celebrated her ninety-nint h birthday
anniversary. In the year 1836 she
come to this country from lork-
shire. England, and forty five years
ago moved to McGillivray. On Mon-
day evening at about the time of
retiring she was liken oil!' a mild
form of epilepsy and soon after lost
consciournes• which she never again
regained. She leaves one run, Mr,
George Sellars, who re!idea in the
North Weise and several daughlerr.
The retrains were interred at Mins-
ky.
