Wednesda:4 Feb. 6,
a very quiet marriage ceremony was
performed at the Methodist parsonage,
Hensall, when Mr. Robert M. Dinadale
and Mies Alice J. Whiteman, eldest
daughter of John Whiteman, of this
village, were united in marriage by
Rev. Mr. Hart. The bride wore a Prin-
cess gown of cream chiffon taffeta,
trimmed with point d'esprit flouncing
and applique. She is one of the most
popular young ladies of our village,
while the groom is a prosperous and
popular young farmer of Stanley.
Mr. and Mrs. Dinsdale will reside on
the groom's fine farm on the town line,
Stanley, and the enter on life's jour-
ney together with the very best wish-
es of a large circle of friends.
PRETTY WEDDING.—The home of
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Mellis was the
scene of a very pretty and interesting
wedding, when his popular young
daughter, Miss Celia, gave her heart
and hand to Arthur Dignan of Mani-
toba. At six o'clock, the guests, num-
bering about sixty, gathered in the
spacious parlor and in a few minutes

St. Marys: Alex. Short, for some
time past ledger keeper in the local
branch of the Bank of Montreal, has
been transferred to the Goderich
branch.
Corbett: At it meeting of :the Cir-
cuit recent held Rev. Sutcliffe was
asked to remain a fourth year. Wish-
ing to show their appreciation to their
pastor, the good people left 148 bush-
els of oats in the stable for Mr. Sut-
cliffe's horse.
Stanley: Mrs. Elizabeth Keys pass-
ed away recently at the age of 71 years.
She was blessed with a continuation
of good health and vigor, until about
last June when the fatal disease, ame-
ntia, setting in, her vital powers de-
clined and it few days ago she passed
away.
Clinton: William Craig. for ul.lny'
years a resident of Goderich town-
ship, died at his home about one mile
from town Wednesday. He was a
highly respected far mer and leaves
four brothers and one sister to mourn
his departure. Ile was 50 years of age
and unmarried.
Goderlch: John Yule, a well known
bicycle dealer and electrician, died
Sunday night from the effects of a large
dose of laudanum. On Friday night
for sn►ne reason he took alarge gran•
tity of the drug and although three
doctors worked over hitn all Sunday,
they were unable to revive him.
Downie: On Monday evening Feb.
11, the friends and acquaintances of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boyes, of the
center line, gathered together at their
residence, to hid good -by before their
leaving for the city of Stratford. Dur-
ing the evening they were presented
with two easy chairs and a well filled
purse.
Seaforth: The little four-year-old
son of Mr. Arthur Colbert. was badly
hurt on Saturday by being run over
by a runaway horse belonging to Mr.
Stewart of Egniondville. The little
fellow had been playing on the pave-
ment in front of Mr. Bate's grocery
and did not see the coming danger
in time to avoid it.
Stella: Wm. H. Drake, near here,
was tried before His Honor, Judge
Barron, at Stratford on Monday for
the alleged theft of some cattle. The
case was a mixed op affair and showed
that a mistake had been made. Drake
was found guilty of having stolen pro-
perty in his possession. but sentence
was suspended. The defendant stated
that he had lost some cattle last sum-
mer and thought that the cattle in his
possession were the missing ones.

pointed assistant public school inspec-
tor under 0. A. Barnes, of East Lamb -
ton. was on Saturday evening honor-
ed by the citizens at a public meeting
in the town hall. Eulogistic address-
es were made by the local clergymen
and others. A beautifully illuminated
address was read by ex -Mayor Hum-
phreys, and a purse of gold was pre-
sented on behalf of the citizens. On
Friday night Mr. McDougall was ban-
queted by the pupils and staff of the
high school and presented with a fur -
lined coat.
