DEATH. -Death removed from our
midst on Friday of leet week one of our
aged residents in the person of Mrs.
Ann Marie Fainter, at the age of 83
years. The deceased had been an in-

her illness with Christian fortitude.
Mrs. Palmer was a native of Germany
and carne to this country when quite
young. She was of a quiet disposition
well liked by all who knew her, and by
her genial manner made for herself a
host of friends, whose friendly feelings
follow far beyond the grave and whose
sympathies ate now with the sorrow -
stricken family. The hearts of all go
out to the bereaved ones who are now
weeping for the loss of it devoted moth-
er, but we trust the prospect of anoth-
er meeting in the hereafter will as-
suage their grief and afford consolation
to their sorrowing hearts. On Monday
the funeral took place to the German
cemetery, the Rev. Datum officiating.
HYMENEAL -The home of Mr. and
Mrs. George Clark, Stephen. was the
scene of it very unique wedding, on
Wednesday, Sept. 13th, at high noon,
when their eldest daughter, Myrtle L.
Meadd, was united in marriage to Mr.
William J. Dixon, a prosperous and
popular young fitrinet• of McGillivray.
To the strains of Mendelssohn's wed•
ding march, played by Mins Alice
'Mott, of Mt. Hrydges. the bWRre en-
tered the parlor leaning on the arm of
her uncle, Mr. Win. Dawson, of Park-
hill, and stood beneath a canopy of
white asters and asparagus fern, where
the ceremony was performed by the
Rev. J. W. Andtewn, of Crediton. The
bride was beautifully gemmed in white
Bru.sels net over white silk, trimmed
with satin ribbon and rnchings. 'I'he
briditl veil and orange blossoms which
she wore were the sante which were
worn by ber mother a few years ago.
The bride also carried a shower 1wu•
quet of bridal roses. Her cousi0, Miss
Chrystal Ferguson, of Mcinnes, was
bridesmaid, ( oo
and looked saint in shell
pink dimity. and carried a shower
bouquet of pink roses. The groom was
assisted by his cousin, Mr. Walter

Newbury, Chatham. Wallacchurg, Mt.
Brydges. Parkhill, Sylvan, Mchini',
Hindsboro, III., and Maguire. After
the usual congratulations the guests
partook of the wedding dejenner serv-
ed in the dining room, which was taste-
fully deo rated with festoons of ferns.
Amid showers of rice.: and best wishes
the happy couple drove to Centralia
and took the 5 p.tn. train for a short
hnneyino.m trip to Hamilton, Toronto
and Niagara :and other eastern points.

Zurich Man Killed in London.

Tuesday in London from injuries re-
ceived 00 the Grand Trunk Railway.
Cnrvin alighted from the train which
cause from Stratford, then he cnnl•

and as he did was stele k by the buffer
beim of an engine and was knocked
headlong front the tracks. He was
taken to the Hospital where it was
discovered that he had sustained a de•
pre.%.d fracture of the skull which

years of age.

dies soon. -Mr. Weltin, together with

picnic at Grand Bend Monday. -Mr.
McLennan, our public school teacher,
spent a couple of days last week in De-
troit. -John Kraft, who hos been holi-
daying with friends in the vicinity of
Berlin for the last two weeks returned
home Monday. ---John Pfaff has pur-
chased from Henry Restyn'eyer the
village property known as the Mrs.
Mutter's house. -Wm. Kleinstiver, af-
ter a two weeks' holiday, has returned
to his work here. -Mrs. Rothermal bite
purchased front Qeoige Kellerman a
house and lot situated near the school.

in London. -Miss Sarah Moffitt, who
bas been away for her health, has re-
turned home looking much improved
by her visit. -Mrs. Geo. Essery and

from their visit to Forest. --Miss Al-
vin. Wilson and Miss Ettie Coughlin
have gone to London. the former to at-
tend the M•tdel School, and the latter
to take a course in the Forest City
Business College. We wish the young

Drank Fly Poison.
Stratford, Sept. 10. -The infant son
of a Mr. Atcheson o f St. Paul, near
bere, drank a quantity of fly poison
front a dish on the table with fatal re-
sults. Medical aid was summoned hut
the little one's lite could not be saved.

therefor, and to Authorize the
Levying of a Special Rate for the
Payment of the Debentures. in-
terest, etc.
Whereas the ratepayers of the Ifunicipality of the
Village of Exeter. at a public meeting resole' that
the above Hylaw should be suhinitted, and if carried
that the Municipal ('omn.:il of the said Village should
purchase and Metall an Electric Light Plant and a
suitable Site for an Eleeetrie light power house, such

And whereas in order to.•arry into effect the said

And whereas it is desirable to issue the said de
bentures at one time and to make the principal of
the acid debt re -payable hy yearly- sums during the
period of twenty years, being the currency nI the

Be it therefore enacted by the Corporation of the
Village of Exeter In Council assembled, as follows: -

!tailing an Electric light plant and acquiring a %nit•
able site and building, for the power honer and of
equipping a 'system of mnnici`al lighting In the Vi6
lege of Exeter, the sum of eighteen thousand dollars
he borrowed.
2nd That the Reeve and Council of the said Mute

lication in the Eteter Advocate Newels er, the date
of which first publication was the 31st .lav of August
1906, and that the votes of the electors of the said
