Medicines of the old-fa';hioned kind will sometimes rcliete the eyntpt.►tus of disease, though they can never touch the disease itself—they never cure. Ordinary medicines leave be - tried theca indigestion. constipation. biliousness and heads: he; purgatives leave the patient feverish and weak- ened. Dr. trilliums' fink fills, on the other hand, do direct good to the body. blood and nerves. They fill the veins with new, rich, red blood; they brace the nerves; they Brite out disease by going right to the root of the trouble in the blood. They always do good—they cannot possibly do harm. Mrs. Geo. Ken- ley. Boxiyo •e, Ont., says:—"It is with thanks that 1 tell you that. Dr. \finials.:.' fink ('ills have cured the etfte: my doc:.or had said I Colt 111 not bo cured. I suffered from an el - Merit constant fluttering of the heart, and sometimes severe pains. '1'A? least exertion would leave me breathless and tired out. My appe- tite was poor, and my head ached nearly all the time. I had lost alt ambition to do any work, and felt very hopeless. I had taken a great. deal of medicine without any bene- fit, enelit, until 1 was advised to try Dr. Williams' Pink 1'ills. These haw made a retnarkable change in my condition, and I nen feeling better than I have done for wears. I glad- ly give my experience in the hope that it will benefit others." Now Dr. 1Villianis' Pink Pills build up strength as they did in Mrs. Hen- ley's case in just one way—they ac- tually make new blood. That is all they do, but they do it well. They don't act on the bowels, they don't bother with there symptoms. They go. right to the root of the trouble In the blood. That is why these pills cure anaemia, headache. heart palpitation, indigestion, kidney trou- ble, rheumatism, minimize. neural- gia, St. Vitus dance, paralysis, gen- eral weakness and the special ail- ments of growing girls and women. But you must have the genuine with the full name Dr. Williams' Pink l'ilis for Pale People, on the wrapper around every Fox. JAPANESE CODE FOR WOMEN, Foundation of Feminine Training in That Country. The work of the Countess Oyama and other Japanese women in organ- izing the hospital service of 'Tokio and the various societies for aiding the Japanese army is distinguished for its splendid spirit and its modern method. Any one who has watched and admired it will take up with amused wonder a recent book—the translation of the precepts of a Jap- anese sage, which for generations have been the foundation of feminine training in Japan. The book itself is not now much used, but its teachings have become a part of the practice of every Jap- anese household. "The worst infirmities that afflict the female," says the sage, Knibara Eicken, -"are indocility, slander, jeal- ousy and silliness. These infirmities aro found in seven or eight out of every ten women, need from than arises the inferiority of women to ou11." Ile boldly puts the doctrine of the nife's obedience en an impregnable ground. "Such is the stupidity of woman's character," he says, "that it is incumbent on her in every par- ticular to distrust herself and obey her husband." The system of rewards and punish- ment for women extends over this life and the life to come, and main- tains nn ingenious balance. "A w'o- mnn must look on her husband," says iKaibarn. "ns if he were heaven itself. and never weary of thinking how she may yield to her husband, and thus escape celestial castiga- tion." Knibarn disapproves for women in- dulgence in the pleasure of the Hun- ter, of music, of wine. and even of ten. Cur' ly e gin he )would not have her very religious, nisi this for n reason which no Christian would be likely to guess—a kind of ccmju1eel jealousy of heaven!
