and was badly bruised.

hands severely burned the other day

Scott. Mrs. Scutt accidentally stepped
on a mateh which ignited and set fire
to her clothing and also singed her hair.

\Vinghatn. Roger V. B., eldest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Browett, who have
been residents of our town for nearly
eighteen months, passed away Thurs-
day. About nine weeks ago deceased
was taken ill; typhoid fever developed
and for eight weeks the young man
was held firmly in its grip.
\Vinghatn: \chile driving a teams
and -carry -all into Grey township, a
young son of Absolom Taylor [net with
an accident. It appears that when
crossing a culvert the horses stumbled
and fell, upsetting and breaking the
vehicle. The boy was thrown out and
had his collar bone broken.
Mitchell: The first of the month
Rev, and Mrs. C. C. Porton and two
children left town for a month's holi-
day. All were then in the best of
health, and it came as a great shock to
our citizens when a telegram was re-
ceived on Wednesday announcing that
Je:ul, their little daughter, had passed
away.
\Vingham: Mrs. Jas. Baby, who has
been a resident of this place for some
years died on Saturday in her gird
year. She had been in failing health
for some time. About three weeks
ago, attacks of epilepsy became more
frequent, leaving her in a very weak
condition, and the end came 011 the
above day.
Gexderich: On Saturday Bert Mc-

Mitchell: Mrs. John 13. Way, an old
resident, passed away Sunday after
two years' illness of paralysis.
Mitchell: Rich. Stewart, the Logan
man, committed for trial by Police
Magistrate T. H. Race, on a charge of
wounding his brother, John, received
his trial Thursday before Judge Bar-
ron, without a jury, was convicted and
remanded to jail for sentence,pendingt
communication with the Attorney -
General. regarding the disposition of
the prisoner. An investigation into
the prisoner's sanity will probably en-
sue.
