the dancing girls ranked above those
who acted. Indeed, they were the
actresses of that time.
So it will be seen that dancing
ranked very high in the eatirnution
of the atelents. Not only is danc-

by it a woman can keep her beauty,
restore her health and make herself
attractive.
'lucre were ►nary dances in ancient
days, but all were characterized by
the same w•iliow1nesa of movement.
All showed that certain swing which
was a part of the dance of the an-

movement which is practiced to -day
in the gymnasium. 'Phe dancer bout

touched the floor. Then she rove,
swayed to music and bent forward
again until her palms fay upon the
floor again. It was a pretty move-

to the dance.
