It is over sad ditty to record the
death of one of the oldest and most
highly esteemed residents of Stanley,
in the person of Mr. Thomas Dins -
dale. ttho departed this life on
Wednesday, Sept. 8t1. Mr. Dinsdale
had been ill for the past few months,
but suffered from no particular
disease, the Trouble tieing just the
wearing out of a once strong and
rugged constitution. Ile had reached
the good age of 80 years and 11 mos.
Mr. Dinsdale was a native of York-
shire, England, and was rnarried to
Miss Mary Manson, of the same par4
ish, in 1851, and she has through life
been to him n true helpmate. In
1857 they cause to !Canada, the trip
tacking eight weeps and four days.
They carne direct to the Huron tract
and settled in Kipp -n. \Whin Mr.
Dinsdale arrived h re his worldly
possessions amounted to $5, but $3 of
this went for medical attendance on
n sick daughter and $1.50 for a cof-
fin, so that the deceased found him-
self in new country with but fifty
cents in bis locket. Ile was a man of
courage, however, and in the succeed-
ing years, by energy, care and hard
work not only accumulated a com-
e etence for- himself but was able to
"gyve his two sons each with a fine
1Gd :tcrc farm. Mr. Dinsdale was one
of the first to introduce the steam
tbro_..,er, and for years Dinsdale &
Sons did a big business in this line.
Ile was a man of excellent character
and his life is one that might be emu-
lated with profit. In religion be was
a 11ethodist and in politics 0 Con-
servative. 11. sides his aged partner
he is survived by tett sons and one
dela,hter, Hobert on the homestead,
and John. un the 2nd of Stanley and
Mrs. U. C. d'etty, of Hensel'.
Magistrate F. Resmussen, of aur,
Marquette Street, Mcntre:d, writes
to the Zam_Buk Co. as follows: --
"Gentlemen, -For many years 1 was
troubled with a serious eruption of the
skin. whii.h was not only unsightly, but
at times very painful. 1 first tried various
household remedies, but all these proved
altogether useless.
" 1 then took medical advice. Not one,
but several du_tors in turn were consulted,
but 1 was unable to get any permanent
relief. Sone time back 1 noticed a report
from a Justice of the Peace who hal been
cured of a chronic akin•disease by
T.am-flak, and i determined to give this
bairn a trial.
" After a thoroughly fair test, 1 can say
I am delighted wi:h it. 1 have the best
reasons for this concl ycion ; because. while
everything else 1 tri19 - salves, embroca-

ashes, soaps, and dnctera' parr
