dent; in the parson of Mr. Petrick
F.aua„on passed to his last reward
aged GO years and 13 days after an
illness extending; over the past few
months frons internal trouble. A
few weeks n,to he was taken to the
Loudon hospital for treatment, but
was unable to secure any relief and
he returned home, gradually grow-
ing worse until death relieved him
of his sufferings. He was born in
the township of McGillivray and 35
years ago took up a farm in this
township. Ile was married thirty•
four years ago and besides his wid-
ow, is survived by, ei;ht children.,

morning. service. Thee preparatory

Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor spent a
couple of weeks with their son and
daughter in 'Toronto.
Mr. John Welsh. electrician at his
brother Thomas' plant, met with a
very painful and what nearly proved
n fatal accident on Sunday of last
week. It appears that. while attend-
ing to some repairing and adjusting
of wires nearby and connected tt•ith
Carmel church, he took in his hand
what he considered a dead wire, but
owing to the dampness of the evening
and the effect caused by the wires
coming in contact with wet branches
of trees, h • found that the tt•ire was
heavily charged. end instantly drop-
ped to the ground with the live wire
in his hand. Fortunately lits wife
had walked over with him, and in
endeavoring to pull her husband
away from the wire received a heavy
shock. She then ran for assistance•►
and getting a stick she pluckily
knocked the wire out of his hand,
and was just in time. for he was then
unconscious and could not have lore;

withstood the hist' o voltage. .As it
was, Mr. Welsh's hand was severely
burned. Ile was carried home and we
are pleased 10 say is around again at-
tending to his duties.

old Windsor boy, has just died ns the
result of n scratch on his wrist.

leaves besides her husband and father

early death. having reached the age

The (tenth o[ Mrs. George Denomy
Sr., of the ►Snuble Line. which sad
event occurred on Tuesday, of last
week, removed one of the early set-
tlers of that line. The deceased had
