Labor Day burglars entered the re-
l'idence of W. J. Ramsay, Victoria
street, Godereeh, and robbed the
owner of $29.00. The family were
:absent at the •time of the robbery'
and so far no one has been apprehen-
ded for the offence.
Mr. Thos. Darwin, of Seafortb, cele-
brated his one hundredth birthday on
Monday of last week. Mr. Darwin
was horn in the parish of Sefton, Lan-
cashire, En;land, on September Pith.
11+09. He came to Canada in 1869,
and with the exception of about six
lmonths bas been a resident of Sea -
forth ever since. Mr. Darwin was a
gentleman of much more than ordin-
ary intelligence and a great reader.

Mrs. Hurdon was born in Sedge-
field. Durham County, England 49
