The Itenon County Council is reek-
ing n move to secure a portion of
Ontario Good Roads :appropriation.
The reason the County has not done
so before is that about fifty years
ago it spent some $600,000 on the
improvement of its roads and did not
feel in a position to make further
large outlay. Now, •however, there
are a large number of bridges in the
County which Should be made per-
manent bridges, and• at the last ses-
sion of the Council there was a
proposition to borrow a large am-
ount of money for this purpose. A
deputation from the County waited
upon the Provincial Government
some days ago to se, -s (what could be

since the work of road improvement
had been done many years ago. The
ministers were favorable to the prop-
osition. but it would •re quire the
passing of an amendment to the Good
Roads Act. The Council of this
County now are planning to secure.
