The weather man has been working
over time the past week and teas been
furnishing suffering humanity with all

Levi Geiser of Denver, Colorado, 1s
visiting his mother, brothers and sis-

looking so well.
Dr. McCue has sold out his drug, store
and practice to Dr. Ornte of Centralia.

ruary. \Ve are sorry to state that Dr,
DtcCue Is obliged to discontinue 1:is
practice for some time on account of 111
health. His many friends regret to see
his departure, as he took a very active
part In the apor to of the town and was
an all round good fellow. We all Join
in wishing' the doctor a speedy return
of his good health. We welcome Dr.
Orme to our midst. Ile is no stranger
here and we are sure will do well.
Bert Clark of The Royal has commenc-

Ira Brown made a business trip to
Toronto Tuesday.
Our town fathers are seriously consid-
ering' the matter of increasing the water
supply of the vl11aee for fire protection
It may be possible that more tanks will
be sunk and the ones at present con-
atructed will be cleaned out and recover-
ed with cement.
Ernest Guettinger Is acting as hostler
at Hill's Hotel owing to the illness of
Jack McCarty. Jack's friends hope he
will s0011 recover.
Rev. Simpson ot London occupied the
pulpit in the Methodist church on Sun
day last. Mr. Simpson is an eloquent
speaker and proved very Interesting.

ed by the father, Mr. Wm. Lewis, way
that he was somewhat easier.
Harry Ellber, who is working in Sar-
nia. spent a few days here with his

MRS. SCOTT ACQUITTED.
Mrs. Martha Scott, charged with the
murder of Iter father-in-law, Harvey
Scott. was acquitted by the jury at elx
o'clock Thursday night at London. They
were out exactly two hours, and a
crowded court room patiently wafted
their return. Mrs. Scott, lnunedlately
after acquittal, was surrounded by
