Mc Donald attained the patriarchal age of 05, having been born in Scotland before the battle of Waterloo. His father was William McDonald of Nairn, Scotland, and his mother, Eiupeth Cameron. As a boy Hubert put In much of his time herding. but afterwards learned black- emfthing, and few could handle the ham- mer so deftly, especially did he excel in tempering steel tocls. 11r1 came_ out to this country over sixty years ago, work- ing at his trade, fleet in Toronto and then in URkctieg, when he married Mary Munroe, who predeceased hits last July. They moved to taborna in '1855, settling on his farm on the Thames Road, and having a blacksmithshop at the corner. Mr. McDonald was known far and wide, being of a most genial (Reposition. He was intelligent, bright and cheery,t eking a wide interest in men and things and posaessing a marvellous memory.
