Messrs. hunter Bros. held a success-

Mr. W. S. Balkwill, who has been I11
for several weeks, is still confined to
his home In a low condition, suffering -
from heart and kidney trouble.

were admitted to the house of Refuge
last week. John Bannerman, who at one
time lived near hayfield died In his 73
year,
Rev. It. M. Stephenson of Toronto will
occupy the pulpit of Cavell Presbyterian
church on Sunday next. Rev. Macdon-
ald of Winnipeg took the pulpit last
Sunday and greatly pleased the congreg-
ations.
There la some talk of a baseball league
being formed between Scafortll, Clinton,
Blyth, Godcrich and Exeter. Such a
league would give good sport in Huron
County, provided the townspeople would
give the necessary support.
Mrs. Hannah Sanders of the 3rd con.
of Stephen very fittingly celebrated her
67th birthday on Wednesday of last
week by having a number of her most
tatimate friends to spend the day with
her. A most pleasant time was spent
by all.
Wm. Reid, one of the best known and
most highly respected business men of
Seatot'ti•, died at his home in that town
on Sunday of paralysis. Mr. Reid was
prominent In Masonic circles, and was
a past District Deputy Grand Master of
South Huron District No. 4.
Mr. B. S. Phillips has returned from
13ellvllle, where he was called owing to
the serious illness of his son, who un-
derwent an operation for an absees on
the appendix. The operation was suc-
cess and if no other complications set
In he gives fair promise of recovery.

Notice for Teachers.—The Uniform
Promotion Examinatlone for the public
schools of lluron, will be held on April
1st, 2nd and 5th. Papers will be sent
out for Junior and Senior Second, Juni-
or and Senior Third and Junior Fourth
Classes. Teachers are requested to send
a post card, at once, to the Public School
Inspector, stating the enact number ot
pupils to write in each class. The par-
cel containing the papers will be sent
to the teacher by March 27th.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Green,
Lake iload, Stephen, was the scene of
a pleasant event o;t Wcdnceday atter-
noon, Feb. 17, when their second daugh-
ter, Mins Jeesle May, became the happy
bride of Mr. !futon Ford, son of Mr.
John Ford. ot the same township. The

blue cloth skirt with silk waist. Under
neath all arch of evergreens the bridal
couple. unattetdcd. took their eland,
about four o'clock, while the ceremony
wits performed by the Rev Mr. Hicks
o' Crediton• In the presence at about
'Iffy guests. Congratulations over all
repaired to the dining room, where a
beautiful wedding supper was served.
The presents were numerous and costly

couple ole held.
STATION SITE.
The Town Council, together with a
number of the citizens of Exeter, assem-
teed on Monday afternoon last for the
purpose of locating the site for the pro-
posed new C. I'. It. Station. After view-
ing the grounds on both the East and
West sides of the town It was concluded
that the most suitable place would be
o;t tine property owned by Mr. John
Sparkman, one block West of the Trly-
ltt Memorial Church. Coming from the
South-east the road will enter the town
somewhere behind Mr. Thomas Hazel -
wood's property, taking a course across
to Mr. II. Lambrook's, theme In a West-
erly direction, Just North of the Trlvltt
Memorial church and on to the prop-
erty of Mr. John Spackntan, thence pro-
ceeding west a short distance, when It
It will curve out In a South-westerly
direction and through to the farm lands.
This seems to be the moat favorable
spot for the depot and should meet with
the approval of every person.

penter of Nazareth and as a result we
remember him gentle and kind; a man
of few words he lived his religion and
when he had finished his life work he
slept. Such a death as his seemed riot
a place for sorrow and anguish, but only
one of peaceful silence and long earned
rest. Deceased was In his 72 year and
and leave four sons and one daughter.
Tet though he has gone from them he
has left them a glorious memory of a
lite, yet humbly lived. Interment took
place on Friday at Mt. Pleasant cemet-
ery, London.

last week, returning to London on Wed-
nesday. We hope to have her back in
our midst In a few days entirely well.
