Gentlemen:
We beg to certify that we have audited
the Looks and vouchers of the Munl-t-
pallt of the t'illege of Exeter for the
year ending December 31st, 1908. We
thud that the total receipts for the year
(Including a balance trom last year of
$3404.26) arc $25.479.11 and that t),c
total cash expenditures for the year, are
$21.582.34. leaving a balance In the
hands of the Treasurer of 53996.77.
The assets we have placed at 5.13.839.17
and the liabilities we find are 122.230.
Wille we have no reason from our in-
vrellgationand no desire to give the
impression that the strictest honesty has
not Wet observed by the officiate. whose
books we esanttned. yet we [tel it our
duty to report to your honorable nudy
that we found the ge:tcral method of
keep'ug the varloue books and vouch-

as a comparison with Inc Order Book

ot the Municipal Act provides that 'The

We would, t:icre•ure. respectfully re-
commend .that the Treasurer be requir-
ed 'to open an account in the name 00
the Municlpality in truce of the charter-

ALL atonies received by hunt" We
would further recommend that the mun-
icipal funda be kept entirely unmtxed
with the Treasurer'a private Lunde and
that all dlsburaemaita of the Treasurer
be made by cheque.
We beg to report further that we have
examined the books of the School
Board with a view to arriving at the
•o:reot amount held b.. the Municipality
as Treasurer of the School Funds. We
find the indebtedness to be 44158,92 as
stated in our report of liabilities.
We have examined the records of the
Debenture Debt of the Village, the mote.
ey by-laws and the bonds of the Treas-
urer. The latter appear to be In regular

The "Toronto Daily Star" is strong in special features
for 'Women.
There are the daily Home Pages—the daily instalment
of a good Story—tl.e Social and Personal columns—the
illustrated daily Fashion !lints.
But OR "tar's" strongest appeal to the wide-awake
woman is the unusually interesting way in which it presents
the news of all the world, day by day.
There i,, not a dry line in it- -yet it is not sensational
or in any way "yellow." Just good, clean, wholesome,
well-written accounts of everything that is going on that's
worth reading about.
