The Canadian Indian, Longboat, has proved to be the champion of the world, by beating Dorando, the Ital- ian, in a 26 [Wile race at New York. He won by one•8fth of a mile. Mrs, (.Tann, of Seaforth, and Mr. Robert Fanson, of Exeter, the latter over Sts years of age, were quietly mar- ried at the latter's home on Thursday evening by Rev. Toll, of Hensall. Mr. T. A. Farming is a business which requir- es access to practical bttsinesetnfortna- tion. This is supplied in the columns of The Weekly Sun. The secret of the growing popularity of this paper hes in its tintiting devotion to the in• terests of the Farmer, The memory of the good it has done will remain for- gotten. To be posted a Farmer roust read the Sun. If you have not been a teadee of the Sun try it for 1909. Aro we going to be a race of stoop shouldered Wien ? One would natur- ally think so to look over almost any large crowd, walk down any crowded street, or glance at the average male human being he meets. The roan who walks with his head erect, his should ars thrown back and his chest extend ed just as nature intended he should, is a rarity and is remarked abont wherever he goes. The average elan, and torte's the pity, the average young than, walks as if he were very tired. Broke els Leg. While Mr. David Kirk was walking down Main street shortly after six o'clock on Friday last be slipped on the icy sidewalk in front of the tele- grt Iph office and falling broke a bone in one leg below the knee.
