they formed up in square. Calton
Dann of London preached a very
touching, imppressive and patriotic ser-
mon. The 33rd Huron Regiment are
getting into good shape and the peo-
ple of Goderich are giving theta a
good time and the melt are appreciat-
ing it in right good style; they have
the name of being one of the best be-
haved regiments in camp. One unfor-
tunate affair occurred in the 32rd Reg-
iment Sunday evening. Two brothers
by the name of Porter-, from Clinton,
were out bathing in the River Mait-
land, when one was supposed to have
taken cramps and sank before his
brother could reach him, the would-be
rescuer being nearly drowned in at-
tempting to save his brother. They
were both taken from the water and
the Army Medical Corps were quickly
on the spot, but after one hour's worst
at artificial respiration one only was
saved. The remains were taken to
Clinton for burial. D. Company of
33rd Regiment, of which he was a
member, marched to the station, ac-
companied by the Regiment Band,
playing "The Dead March in Saul"
and "Nearer my God to Thee." This
is the second death in camp during
our sojourn here. General Otter in-
spected the Camplast week and found
everything satisactory. Sir F. Bor-
den, Minister of Militia, also visited
our Camp yesterday afternoon and at-
tended a banquet lack night given by
the Goderich Council and Board of
Trade, together with the 33rd officers.
On Wednesday night there is going to
he a grand Military tattoo and display
of fireworks. Thursday will bring
forth a sham fight in which all Corps
in Camp will take part. Excursion
trains are going to be run into Gode-
rich for that purpose. Friday the men
will strike Camp and return to their
respective headquarters.-F.E.H.
