MEAL TIME MISERIES
Indigestion Can be Cured by the
Tunic Treatment of Dr, Williams'
Pink Pills.
Torre ft alnly one way to cure indi-
gesliou and that le to give yout sys-
atem so much good, red blood that the
much will have strength enough to
its natural work in u healthy, vlg
emus way. Many dyspeptics dose the
etonlach with tablets, syrups and other
things olkged to assist to digesting
food, but these things merely give tem-
perary relief—they never cure indiges-
tion—and the trouble grows wore and
worse, until the poor dyspeptic is gradu-
ally starving. In a case of indigestion
.1 half dozen boxes of Dr. Williams'
Pink Pills are worth all the mixtures
and so-called predigested feuds in the
country. These pills cure indigestion
'because they strengthen and tone the
stomach, thus enabling it to do the
work nature intends it should do.
Mr. Paul Charbonneau, St. Jerome,
'Que., says: "For months 1 suffered
,tortures from indigestion. After every
meal the misery was intense, so that
1 finally ale most sparingly. 1 tried
beveral so-called Indigestion curses, but
htry dict me no good. My general
health began to run down. I suffered
from headaches and dizziness and pains
about the heart. Often atter the light -
'est meal 1would be afflicted with a
• :smothering sensation. Finally my 'ne-
ither induced me to try Dr. Williams'
,Pink Pills. Under the use of this me-
dicine the trouble began to disappear.
and in less than a couple of months 1
ihad completely recovered my! health
and can now enjoy a hearty meal as
well as any one."
It is because they make new, rich
blood that Dr. Williams' Pink Pills al-
ways cure indigestion. anaemia, rheu-

l:tl.rtIN COOK DIED.
Ancient \lanu't•rip- t Recently Presented
to British Museum.
Two hundred year, ago u seaman.
John I.aw, who accompanied Captain
Cook on hiL+ ill-fated voyage to the
Sandwich Islands, kept a diary of the
incidents of the expedition.
Little dict he drunk that his quaintly -
Written notes would one day have a
place in the British Museum. itecently,
however, Mr. C. G. Lawrence Law—rno
of his descendants—presented the diary
to the museum, and it has now been
carefully bound and placed in the
manuscript room. Much of it is almost
illegible, but it contains a spirited and
graphic account of the death of Cap-
tuin Cook.
The origin of the trouble was the
theft of a pair of tongs and a chisel.
The thief wentoff in a canoe, which
was pursued and fired at.
Captain Cook then determined to se-
cure the King as a hostage. The aged
Monarch at first agreed to go on board
the Resolution—Captain Cook's vessel
—but his people persuaded him to re-
turn to his house.
One of the natives grew Insolent, and
Captain Cook shot hint dead. Upon
this "the enraged Indians' prepared to
avenge the death of their comrade.
Against the counsel of those with
hint, Captain Cook went c,n to the beach,
when a native, supping iehind him,
knocked hien down with a club. He Im-
mediately rose and went alone into the
crowd. When he rushed back he was
stabbed and thrown into the water.
Then he was dragged to the beach again
and beaten and stabbed to death.
The diarist tells gruesome stories of
the vengeance that was exncted by the
survivors of the expedition, and makes
it clear That Captain Cook's death was
in a large measure due to his own rash -
tress and lack of tact.
