The surveyors of the St. Marys and
Western Railway struck the town on
Saturday on their westward journey.
If the survey is adopted they will enter
the town behind the school, running
northwest through Mr. John Taylor's
orchard, the fair grounds, the block
west, crossing Andrew street and
passing near the fonndry, will cross
Main street north of the power house,
pass through the old market square,
where it is expected the station would
be located, thence northwesterly to
the G. T. R. bridge, under which the
line will pass. From there it is pro-
posed to survey two lines west, one to
pass through Dashwood and the other
through ('rediton. The choice of the
routes would then lie with the C.P.R.
The surveyors returned to St. Marys
Monday to spend Christmas.
