The church was packed to the doors. There is general regret here that he is removed to another charge. He has labored earnestly and well and the spiritual condition of the congregation is thoroughly alive. His parting words were deeply felt and his departure from Centralia will not alone be keenly felt by the people of his con- gregation. but also by the many friends he has stet and made during his so- journ bete. The activeart Mrs. An- drews took in the upbu»ding of the church will also cause her to be missed, she having been a worthy and diligent member of the Ladies' Aid Society. Needless to say Hicks, the weather roan, knows just the kind of a day our people appreciate for the holding of a days outing and he favored us with one of the best of the season. Just a trifle warm, but of course a cold day is no good to picnic. In the utorning a game of baseball was played, result- ing at the end of the 5th innings in favor of the boys headed by R. G. Mc- Lennan, by a score of 15 1. This over all repaired to the tables to do justice to the inner man and partake of the good things provided by the ladies. Of this we need say but little as every- one knows our good ladies know just what to provide for occasions like this, and it was never yet known that any- one ever went hungry at a Dashwood picnic, In the afternoon there were spurts for young and old. Those for the children were brought on first. After this there were prizes given by the business men of Dashwood in the following contests: 25 tbs. flour given by \V. Ehlers for largest family on the grounds, won 1y Mrs. Gassman; post- card album and doz. picture post -cards by E. M.
