Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Willis are visit- ing friends in town. Mrs. J. W. Smith spent Sunday with friends in Teeswater. Mr. Free, of Toronto, visited at the home of Mr, A. E. Smith. Miss Agnes Walker, of Toronto, is visiting at her home here. Mr. Harry Dore. of Guelph, spent Dominion Day, at his home here. Mr. Levi Vansickle, of Chicago. is visiting relatives in town at present Mr. Peter S. Fisher, of Toronto, is visiting at his parental home in town. Miss Ethel Cameron, of Napanee, is visiting with her dister, Mrs, Hilton Hunter. Miss Nellie Thorpe, of Detroit, is visiting with her friend, Miss Florrie Jarvis. Miss Margaret Tibbs was visiting for a few days last week with relatives in London. Mr. Adam Schaefer spent the week end with friends in Clinton and Goderich. Miss Edith Treleaven, of Dungannon, visited last week with Miss Elva Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. J, D. Burns, of Galt, were visiting Wingham friends for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Grierson, of Park- hill, were visiting with Wingham friends last week. Mr. Grant Lundy, of Blyth, is spend- ing a few days at the home of Mr. F. H. Roderus. Mr. Rich. Howson, of Montreal, is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Howson. Mr. Geo. Shipley, of Clinton, spent the holiday with his daughter, Mrs. 0. Lavis, of town. Mr. B. D. Griffin, of Vancouver, B. C., is spending a couple of months at the parental home. Mrs. Vansickle, of Seaforch, was vis- iting her son, Mr. Vansickle, of town, during the past week. Mr. Charles Johns, of Montreal, is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Johns, of town. Miss Bernice Clark, of Mount Forest, spent the holiday at the home of her uncle, Mr. A. E. Smith. - Mr. Percy Kerr, of Loudon, visited with bis sister, Mrs. Benson Cruick- shank, for over Sunday. Miss C. R. Taylor has returned to town after spending the past few months at her home in London. Mrs. Woods, of Lanark, is visiting with her sisters, Mrs. John and Mrs. Jas. McGee in East Wawanosh. Miss Edna Dickson, who has spent the past three years in Vancouver, B. C., returned home on Monday last. Mrs. Hicks and two children from Wingham are visiting at the home of Mrs. John Sillick's-Teeswater News. Mrs. Alva Fleming, and little son, of Toronto, are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Walker. Mr. J. D. Campbell, of the Stratford Normal School, visited for a few days with his brother, Mr. W. A. Campbell et Mr. David Martin and daughter, Elizabeth. of Glanford Station were visiting for a few days in Wingham and district. Mrs. F. S. Homuth, of the Whitby Ladies' College, is visiting at present with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Spading. Mrs. Garnet Pearson and daughter, Louise, of Edmonton, are spending a few weeks with relatives and friends in Wingham. Mrs. Wilmot Mahood, of Georgetown, with her son, Master Roy, is visiting at the home of her brother-in-law, Mr. W. E. Mahood. Miss rena England, accompanied by her friend, Miss Phoebe Bloomfield spent Sunday in Lucknow, visiting with the former's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Bell, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bell, of Southampton were visiting for a few days with Wingham relatives and friends. Mrs. George Aitcheson, jr., of Luck - mw, who underwent an operation at the General Hospital here, returned home on Saturday last. Messers H. E. Ricker and G. R. Smith, of the Wingham High School, are spending the next few weeks in Toronto as members of the Examining Boaid. Miss Lilla B. Isbister has completed her studies at Macdonald Hall, Guelph, and has returned home for the holidays. She was accompanied by Miss Hanna, of St. John, N. 13., who spent a few days visiting in Wingham. Mr. Charles Nicholls, of Tampa, Florida, was visiting for a few days last weak with his brother, Mr. A. J. Nicholls. Mr. Nicholls left Wingham twenty-tWo years ago and this is his first visit home in that time. •Re finds many changes In the old home town in that time and was pleased to see the improvements which have been made in'eeemt years. DEYELL. CHURCH NOTES. CHURCH OF ST. PAUL THE :APOSTLE. Bishop Thorneloe of Algoma was elected Anglican Metropolitan of On- tario at a meeting of the House of Bishops in Toronto. The election, which was necessitated by the resignation of Bishop Hamilton, was to have taken place in April, but the eight Bishops of the Province were unable to reach a decision then. Choir practice (this) Wednesday even- ing at 8 o'clock. Next Sunday, July 11th, is the one appointed for the administration of the Sacrament of Baptism. Parents who have children to be baptized are invited to bring them to the church at 3.30. Miss Farrel, of Teeswater, has been appointed organist of St. Paul's Church and will enter upon her duties Sunday, July 18th. Rev. Mr. Potts has tendered his resignation as rector of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clinton, the same to come into effect in August. Mr. Potts will go to St. Thomas Church, Toronto. BAPTIST CHURCH Pastor A. C. Riley will preach next Sunday. Morning, "Studies in Ro- mans," "The Christian and Sin." Evening, "Liberty, Equality, Frater- nity." PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. Owing to an attack of rheumatism, Rev. Mr, Perrie was unable to conduct the services. It is expected, however, that he will be sufficiently recovered to resume his duties on Sunday next. METHODIST CHURCH Regular services will be held in the Methodist Church next Lord's Day at 11 o'clock and 7 p. m. Rev. J. W. Hibbert will preach, Morning subject "Friendship, its meaning and signi- ficance." A special service will be held in the evening when a sermon will be delivered to the Orange Association. The Orangemen will march in a body to the church. All are welcome.
