LIVE STOCts. 1114t1RETS Toronto, Dee. 14th — Union Stock Yarda—Receipts for today were 100 cars, with 4,099 cattle, 229 calves, 915 hogs, and 786 sheep and Iambs, The market tcday was very slow, fol- lowing the heavy purchases of the latter part of last week, for the Christmas trade. There was a heavy run of medium fat cattle and of canners and cutters to -day, and evidently the trade was already well supplied with these classes of cattle for the present. The result was a very slow market. Choice butcher sold steady to firm, but canners and rough cows were off. Lambs steady but dull trade. Hogs unchanged at $7.25 fed and watered.
