World Religion Day Brings Community Together
Lakeshore Advance
Grand Bend will soon be cele-
brating the tenth annual World
Legion Day event on January
19th, 2014, at the Royal Canadian
Legion hall. Gord Britton, past MC
of Grand Bend's event, says, "Amaz-
ing how time so quickly goes by. We
are very excited about our tenth cel-
ebration. It has been fun and uplift-
ing to be part of a lovely, unifying
event here in Grand Bend." The
Grand Bend event has seen
participation from many faith
groups over the decade. The audi-
ence has enjoyed uplifting writings
intermixed with music and dance
from a variety of local, regional and
international performers.
World Religion Day was begun in
1950 and is now held all over the
world. Its aim is to promote under-
standing and dialogue between the
followers of all religions, or no reli-
gion, and to emphasize the idea that
we are one humanity. It is intended
to foster love and harmony of all the

explore humanities potential, espe-
cially when working together for the
common good.
Will you juin us? Gord highlights,
"this years theme is Celebrating the
Human Potential. We will have a
community choir, open to all who
like to sing, and if you would like to
participate or have ideas to
share, we invite you to share them
either at the planning meetings or
