During this time the LSC have supplied many thousands of bird feeders, bat boxes, butterfly houses and bird houses at no cost to the students or their schools. At the end of their work sessions the pupils proudly display their very own feeders. They can't wait to fill them with sunflower seeds and watch to see what bird will show up. Creative dollars for Kiwanis 0 Lakeshore Advance The County of Lambton's Creative County Committee is advancing $11,125 to three community projects looking to improve cultural vitality in the area. Applications were considered and fund- ing approved at a recent Creative County Committee meeting. Approved projects include: $3,125 to the Bluewater Sustainability Initiative Gen Y Committee for "Kickin' It Forward", an outdoor sustainable movie festival series to be held through- out the County; $3,000 to Storyboard Cultural Com- munity Endeavours for the "Festival of Good Things'; celebrating the people of Lambton County and their work; And $5,000 to the Kiwanis Club of For- est for a Film & Food Festival. "Our second intake enabled support to three creative festival opportunities that will bring people together to enjoy film, food, and most importantly a cele- bration of community" said Creative County Committee Chair Bev MacDougall. In total, the Creative County Commit- tee has advanced $47,625 in 2013, its inaugural year. The committee carries an aumual budget of $75,000 to award to partner projects, events, activities or workshops that will improve heritage, arts, and cultural vitality in Lambton County. Unallocated funds will be car- ried over to 2014. The next call for appli- cations is anticipated to occur in January 2014.
