One project Is In support of floating wetland platforms in the old Ausable channel, these are created wetlands assist in recreating the natural balance and help in water clarity, Improve the natural habitat for small fish and reduce elevated nutrients. The second project being supported Is in support of species at risk and supports the creation of Turtle boxes to protect turtle nesting. Photos by Lynda HHtlinan-Hapley Lakeshore Attvam 11 Members of the Grand Bend community foundation were delighted to share in the Christmas spirit with the BIG BUNCH group from Big Brothers Big Sisters South Huron. The kids were busy working on Christmas crafts and decorations this week. The Grand Bend Community Foundation is providing a grant of $5000.00 this year in support of the activities and programs offered to the BIG BUNCH group. The funding will allow the BIG BUNCH group to get together twice monthly and to purchase necessary supplies for crafting, physical activities/sporting/gaming equipment, purchasing admissions and rentals for special planned activities, The BIG BUNCH program is geared towards children on the Big Brother, Big Sister, waiting list, but is also opened up to any child where a group program may bo more appropriate to meet their needs, as well as open to all children who are currently matched and may wish to attend with their Big(s).
