speed, rain and sleet and even snow created what we
refer to as the white hurricane of November 1913. In
an amazing depiction of those four days one hundred
years ago as presented by the St. Joseph and Area •
Historical Society. Written by Duncan McGregor and
music by David Archibald - this community play
brought 840 people to Hessenland Country Inn during
two weekends. The actors, from all walks of life took
the Audiences from early November 9th 1913 before
the storm to the aftermath as bodies begin to wash
up on shore. In his greetings, Bluewater mayor Bill
Dowson said "This small society has stood up to
the plate one more time to make Bluewater and the
County of Huron proud.
We have people with talent, time and desire to make
sure our heritage is preserved for many generations
to follow."
