HomeMy WebLinkAboutLakeshore Advance, 2013-11-13, Page 88 Lakeshore Advance • Wednesday, November 13, 2013 ► POLICE BRIEFS Male missing from Huron Park Officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment are seeking the public's assistance in locating a 54 year old male that was reported missing by his family yesterday afternoon, Huron OPP officers are attempting to locate the male in an effort to verify his well-being. Ernest KISH, 54 years of age, known to his friends and family as Lynn has been missing from his Huron Park home since November 5, 2013. He was last seen leaving Clinton Racetrack & Slots on foot on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 around 2:00 a.m. He often hitchhikes from Clinton to his residence in Huron Park. He is described as: Caucasian, 5' 10", 220 lbs, stocky build, unshaven, with short black and grey hair. He was dressed wearing blue Jeans, a black bomber style jacket, blue shirt and grey running shoes. He has known ties to the Ingersoll and Woodstock area. If you have seen this male or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Huron OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1 -800 -222 -TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000. 1Mafflc charges Iald against mini -bike driver A traffic stop of a mini -motorcycle has led to four traffic charges against a 19 year old from South Huron. At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 1, a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a male operating a Ulan mini -motorcycle. The driver was travelling on the sidewalk on Main Street in Exeter. Tho officer also observed the driver to bo not wearing a helmet. A traffic stop was initiated on Alexander Street which resulted in the driver leaving with a court date to answer to his charges. The 19 year old, from South Huron has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle — No Licence, Fail to Wear Helmet on Motorcycle, Operate Motor Vehicle — No Insurance and Drive Motor Vehicle — No Permit He has a scheduled court appearance set for Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on Dec. 17 Female facing animal cruelty charges Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have laid animal cruelty charges against a 33- year old female formerly of South Huron. On Nov. 3, 2013 Huron OPP officers attended a vacant residence located on Algonquin Drive In Huron Park to investigate a complaint of abandoned animals in the residence. A witness reported the former tenant moved out on Oct. 31, 2013 leaving the pets behind. Officers accessed the residence to check on the condition of the pets and located two skittish dogs and four deceased cats. There were no signs of water or food lett behind for the animals. The dogs were transported to a veterinary clinic for an assessment. It is believed they will make a recovery. As a result, the 33 -year old woman, now residing in London has been charged with six counts of animal cruelty contrary to section 446 (1)(b) Criminal Code. She has a court appearance scheduled for January 23, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice — Exeter. Shoplifting & breach of probation charges laid Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid several criminal charges against a 35 year old from South Huron following a shoplifting incident. Just after 4:00 p.m. on November 1, Huron OPP officers responded to a discount store located on Main Street South in Exeter to investigate a report of a female shoplifting. Officers arrived on scene and arrested the female. As well, she was carrying a knife which was determined to be a breach of her prohibition order. Further checks revealed the female was also serving a probation sentence and was failing to abide by the condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. As a result, a 35 year old woman, from South Huron has been charged with Thett Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order and two counts of Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 25, 2013 at Ontario Court of Justice — Goderich.
