Lambton Shores
Predators drop
axe on coach
OMI Agency
Just 17 games into his tenure as the
Lambton Shores Predators head
coach, Dave Warren has been fired by
the struggling (()Jill. team.
The season looked promising for
the Predators, given who was eligible
to return, but the trade of second -
leading scorer Kyle Brothers to the
Chatham Maroons started the unrav-
elling. And when captain and leading
scorer Adam Arsenault and defence -
man 'fanner Ferguson were shipped
to the Maroons a week and a half ago,
the team's 3-13-1 record heading into
Friday night's game in St. 'Thomas was
almost inevitable.
"It's no big deal," Warren said. "It
wasn't a fun environment to be in, but
it's over and let's move on."
Warren acknowledged the Toss of
three of the team's top four scorers
from last season was huge.
"It's difficult when you lose not only
three good players, but three of the
best players in the league," he said.
"The foundation of the team was those
three."
Warren, who also does some scout-
ing and on -ice work with the London
Knights, said the dual role became a
time management issue for hint.
Predators owner Roop Chanderdat
said it was just about making a
change.

"Dave's a good coach, but some-
times you can't get through to all the
kids and tvhether the kids weren't
adapting to hint or it was something
else, you can't fire 23 kids," (:hander-
dat said. "We're in evaluation mode
and we've still got a lot of games left
to salvage the season."
Associate coach Dave Dickson takes
over as the interim head coach. A
London firefighter and a scout for the
0111:s Windsor Spitfires, he also spent
seven years coaching in the London
Junior Knights AAA ranks.
